You have to include multiple accounts in your figures too - certainly the creation and 'busting' or dropping thereof will account for some of the fluctuation. There are also a number of retired people who pop back to the forums from time to time but are not on the active scoreboard.

That's true; good point. But we also have to go back to the definition of "declining". Does it mean that there are fewer players active in games? Or fewer players on the forums?
