Most of them also don't have the killer neutrals or bonus structures like the public utilities or the parks bonus. They're straight geographical maps with contiguous bonus zones and that's about it.

Personally, I like the GP of the map and don't think it should be changed. I see your concern with calling it a "Classic City" map, but honestly, adding 42 maps to the current rotation that aren't unique at all other than they are cities featured on the classic map is probably a bit silly. Ideally, in my opinion, each map created based on the classic map should have it's own unique GP characteristics.

Agreed definitely.

Thanks for that nolefan5311
but now i can't check it anyways, i've uploaded the xmls for both this and sydney to fileden and peejee
and neither of them are working in the xml tool map inspect page - image works...but not the xml, yet the xml test for errors tells me there is nothing wrong with either file. everything is OK for the classic map inspect - the default.
seems as though the tool is not picking up the xml at all.
you're old file works OK.
seems as though the problem is the undersocre characters.
Go figure...bloody mad at this

PS. Yes the problem is the underscore characters i had in filenames....for some reason the xml tool does not like this character.

Xml file updated
http://www.fileden.com/files/2011/10/26 ... 01PMFC.xml

nolefan5311...can you take this xml and replace your records with it.
It has several updates including re-ordering of some regions to place them together...when doing territories you should try to keep continent territories together if possible, and work top to bottom left to right of clockwise...it just makes checking easier for those doing the xml check
can you also replace this in the XMl check files please.
thanks

I thought I did arrange them accordingly, with maybe a slight variation or two here or there. I know it wasn't completely random.

And thanks, I will change the xml check file this evening sometime.

Ah. still awaiting xml check...and obviously because of the recent disruption, the foundry awaits moving some maps either to beta or out of beta. ;)

I'm just wondering when this is going to get the green light for BETA...it's been sitting here for ages ready to play, long before Classic Sydney was ready

The xml looks good and ready to go. The only concern I have is how you really want to give out starting positions at the start.
Do you want they are given out evenly in any case? (having them with an underlying neutral) or do you want give out the reminder, if there's one?

Actually there's no underlying neutral so in some games with 3,5,6,7 players someone can start with more than a single tribe...I don't think this is what you want.
And in case you want apply the starting neutral, do you want it only for the tribe or also for the territory that's given with it into the position? (e.g. wagani ponds for highland tribe)

If the xml is all ready to go and everything is OK, then it needs to be posted here so i can attached it to the image files and then we can get submission. :)
