          Beta - Quenching

---The Final Forge period has concluded for the New Jersey Map. All objections have had their time. The Foundry and I hereby brand this map with the Foundry Beta Brand. Let it be known that this map is now ready for BETA Play. After an extended period of time in BETA and once all quirks and issues have been resolved, the map will be put into Full Play (barring any Lack vetoes).

Conquer Club, enjoy!

              Image

While the map is in BETA Play, there are a couple of administrative tasks that are required of the mapmaker(s) in addition to the initial gameplay testing:
    1. Please ensure that the first post of the thread contains all the necessary information to help future visitors to the development thread; it's particularly important to ensure the most recent images are there, along with any helpful guides (such as gameplay quirks/nuances or the location/size of any starting neutrals etc.)
    2. It is the responsibility of the mapmaker(s) to ensure that they respond to further feedback in a timely and constructive manner.
    3. Write a "creative" map description and send it to the Foundry Foreman via PM. You're encouraged to post it into the first post of the thread as well; the description will be used to populate the maps database.

It needs to be uploaded by the webmaster, you have to wait for the headline into the homepage, I'll post it as soon as the map is available for playing.

I still think the colors and styles of this map are a bit too... well, chaotic, but will still give it a try when its playable.

Hm, not sure what the issue is, but I'll notify Lack. I've closed the map for now, so no one else starts games on a map you can't see.

Too bad we had to delete the 4 games associated with map. It should be back to normal now.

From BOB:

South Coast (3): Bridgeton(2) Millville(1) Vineland(3) Cape May(3) Ocean City(1) Wildwood(1) West Skyland (3)

So South Coast Bonus doesn't work as it seems.

Is Tuckerton vs Pine Barrens and Tuckerton vs Toms River not in the XML?

When will the south coast bonus be applied? I currently have it, but it is still not being accounted for.

As soon as it is sent to lack, and he gets it uploaded. Which could be another couple of weeks. 8-[

Looking back on the thread, I noticed that there were some concerns about where Madison was (I'm glad I'm not the only Jersey native to see it).
Is it too late to re-name Madison to Somerville or Bridgewater? Either would be more geographically accurate than Madison.

I'm currently playing NJ map. As a former resident I can tell you the map is very very inaccurate. I would love to help correcting it if you would like.

Here's my thoughts,

Sussex is fine
Middlesex County is shown very accurately but Union and Elizabeth are located too far south and are not in Middlesex County as they appear. Edison is above the Raritan River as show, Old Bridge or Sayreville would be south of that river. To solve this I would make Clifton slightly narrower top to bottom and slide newark more north and drop Elizabeth, or add another locale with Edison getting swapped above the river and renaming south of the river something like Laurence Harbor, Sayreville, or Old Bridge. Union is where Piscataway is, or Rutgers Univ if located there too.
Again on Clifton, the map shows is way west and south of where it is located. Possibly renaming clifton "The Oranges" would be appropriate.
Paramus southeast boarder should be extended to touch manhattan to the east. Hoboken shouldn't touch upstate New York.
Madison region is VERY off, suggest it be renames Franklin Twp or HIllsborough
