I understand where you're coming from, wookie, but that would require disqualifying players from 61 of our 72 teams.

Why is this taking so long, you ask?
To win a cross-country relay, each player on a team must win a 1v1 game.
So, when you put it into practice, each relay is basically a 1v1 series between the two games where the first team to win 4 games wins the relay.
Thus, a closely contested series between evenly matched teams could take 7 games to complete.
And, if each game goes 10 rounds, yes, it could take a while.

On the plus side, I am using this time to make Day 2's games in the other 4 events so you're not waiting as long for those as you were for Day 1's. :D

Scores, standings, and other results have been tallied for all Day 1 action except for the Cross-Country Relay (50 of 72 matches still ongoing):

After 4 events, Libya holds the lead, with 244 Standings Points out of a possible 288 - 12 Standings Points ahead of second-place Serbia.
9 of our 72 teams have more than 200 Standings Points, while only 11 have less than 100.

Worthy of notice to those who follow the updates on my spreadsheet: I have made a slight change to the shooting scoring in an effort to make ties less frequent:

If a player wins a game by eliminating you, you will lose 1 Round Point.

NOTE: You will NOT lose a Round Point if you are eliminated by a player whose target is not you.

This might be me reading stuff wrong and maybe it doesnt matter anyhow but in the show jumping my team CHA won all of our circus maximus games but the way i am reading the spread sheet we still have 4 faults in game. I was just wondering if that was a mistake or if i am just not reading stuff right?

As far as I can see, you guys only have one fault for the one game you won in 10 rounds.
Can you post or PM me a screenshot so I can see what you see?

On fencing, Egypt is colored red as if I was in third place, and thus eliminated. In fact, all 3 teams in our group finished 2-2.

I'm gonna have to take some time to try to decipher the rest :)

Note to those who follow my spreadsheet:

If a relay is highlighted in green, that means it is finished - nothing more, nothing less.

One game left until we can move on to Day 2!

My apologies for the slow pace of the tourney so far, but when players let invites expire and need to be replaced, that takes time.

ALL DAY 1 GAMES HAVE (finally) CONCLUDED!!

At the close of Day 1 action in all 5 events, Libya leads all teams with 291 Standings Points, 10 ahead of second-place Serbia.

Only 6 teams have less than 100 Standings Points - 33 have between 100 and 199.5, and 33 have 200 or more.

To find out where your team stands, click on the link the the Google Doc at the bottom of the first post, and go to the last sheet ("Overall Results").

Day 2 games and invites will be made and sent out as soon as possible.

Day 2 fencing, shooting, and cross-country relay games have been made, and invites have been sent. I hope to create games and send invites for the doubles events soon, but they will probably take a while.

Thank you all for your patience.
