I don't mean to sound condescending, so please do not take this that way. I had to use abbreviations to fit all relevant info into the game labels - SS is synchronized swimming (SJ is show jumping), and (FS) means fencer & shooter. As you can see in the first post, all four players on each team compete in synchronized swimming as two doubles teams, with the fencer & shooter forming one team and the show jumping team forming the other. I have not yet sent the invites for the shooting games, but I hope to do that soon.
I hope this clears up any confusion you may have, but if not, please feel free to PM me or to post on my wall or in this thread. sempai

Invites for all Day 1 action in fencing, shooting, show jumping, and synchronized swimming - as well as the first matchup in each Day 1 cross-country relay - have now been sent. Now begins the collection of data. Day 2 invites will not be sent until the completion of ALL Day 1 games. Thank you all for bearing with me. I hope to keep the tournament running a lot more smoothly than it started.

CLARIFICATIONS for anyone who didn't read all the spoilers in the first post:
EVERYONE competes in synchronized swimming (SS) and cross-country relay (XCR). Each player will compete in ONE of the other three events: fencing (F), shooting (SH), and show jumping (SJ).
FROM THIS MOMENT ON: Declining a second set of invites or allowing a third set of invites to expire without providing me with an explanation via PM or wall post will result in immediate expulsion from the tournament and replacement with a reserve. If you have already declined an invite without providing an explanation, that number is one, not two. However, once you accept a set of invites, the slate will be wiped clean.
I don't mean to be so harsh, but I've done what I had to do to get this tourney going (although it took me a lot longer than I would have liked), and now I'm counting on ALL of you to meet me halfway.

I like how people race to request a spot, and then you create this, what, 1000 game tournament, and they can't be found. Crazy.
I'm making most of the Day 2 games now so they'll be ready when Day 1 is finished. 100 games are already done - though almost 20 were finished by the time I sent the last invites.
No problem! It's a labor of love.

My apologies, Silly, for not responding. No, you do not need to post the results here. I check on finished games and update the teams and results spreadsheet fairly frequently. However, you may by all means post them here if it makes you feel better.

Sorry to hear that, machrs, but unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done about those games at this point. If jademagon does deadbeat in any of your games, please let me know and I will have a reserve take his spot in all future games.
NEW RULE: Deadbeating from even one tournament game is grounds for immediate expulsion from the tournament and replacement by a reserve. If you don't want to play, there's no reason for you to take a spot from someone who does.

Great job on the tournament so far! One humble request: could you tack the abbreviations you are using onto the initial post? I'm getting confused looking at our game titles...
D = Day F = Fencing/Fencer SH = Shooting/Shooter SJ = Show Jumping/Show Jumpers - SJ1 & SJ2 are determined by alphabetical order SS = Synchronized Swimming - (FS) = Fencer & Shooter, (SJ) = Show Jumpers XCR = Cross-Country Relay GS = Group Stage BR = Bracket Round RD = Round GR = Group GM = Game
Done! Let me know if I've missed anything, and I'll put it in here.

As Day 1 begins to wind down, just a friendly reminder that Day 2 will not start until all Day 1 games have been completed and all results from those games have been recorded.
Patience is a virtue, my friends.

The 4 points you mentioned are Round Points, which no longer matter now that Group Stage 1 is over and the results and standings have been recorded. I understand that it's confusing, so let me try to explain, using your team (which is indeed Nepal) as an example:
You, Leehar, as the Nepali fencer, started with one event point, as did everyone else. You earned a second event point for finishing at the top of your group in group stage 1, and an additional half of an event point for winning all four of your games. If you go to the sheet that says "Fencing - Results," you will see that you were one of 8 fencers to accomplish this. I broke the tie by speed of victory (whoever earned their 4 wins in the lowest total number of rounds was put at the top of the fencing leaderboard), so you finished fifth and earned 68 Standings Points (the number of Standings Points you get = 73 - your place on the leaderboard, so 73 - 5 = 68). There is a similar results sheet for each event, but shooting, synchronized swimming, and cross-country relay are still ongoing, and I have not yet gotten a chance to break the ties in Show Jumping. Once all Day 1 games finish, I will record, on the last page of the sheet ("Overall Results") the number of standings points each team has accumulated in each event and in all events combined - this last number will be used to determine the overall standings and (after Day 7) the winning team.
Hope this cleared everything up, but if not, please continue to ask questions, and I will do my best to answer them.
