are the english a more spiteful race than the americans?

Post by yang guize »

my thanks to symmetry for raising this issue.

so, as the great anthropologist himself has aruged in the 'sikh shootings' thread, english people are (generally) more spiteful and less compassionate than americans.

Symmetry wrote:one of the victims stumbled to a local home where the guy gave him first aid on his lawn. This probably wouldn't happen in Japan, and I don't think it's as common as it used to be in the UK.

...

In the UK, at the moment, they might not even leave the house.

a statistic to illustrate the debate: american policemen have taken multiple bullets to defend religious minorities from aggression this year. english policemen, however, have taken 0 bullets to protect religious minorities from aggression this year.

if anyone has any anecdotes of their own that would help inform this debate, please share them. i would be interested to hear your thoughts.

Should the vote not be between "Home of Bomber Harris" and "home of 'Little boy' and 'Fat Man' "?
I mean, if you're making a direct comparison, like?

i believe that use of the 'fat boy' actually ended world war 2, an achievement that any human would have been awarded a nobel peace prize for.

Lol my experience as an independent has lead to believe Americans are FAR more likely to help out. Having said that I voted for the brits because the field of computational statistics has been seriously fucking with me today so I'm getting my own back
I go to the gym to justify my mockery of fat people.

nonsense. The war was ended because Stalin said boo, and Japan got scared of being communist.

Aren't "traditional" (i.e. white Americans or european ancestry) the same "race" as the English?

And aren't the supposed racial differences between members of our species so insignificant as to be hardly measurable?Homo sapiens is closer to Chimpanzees, than Chimpanzees are to Gorillas,at the dna level.Any differences between Americans and Europeans are cultural..

Lies, damn lies and statistics!

English cops probably haven't taken any bullets this year to defend religious (or ethnic, or any other) minority because in general English people don't carry guns, and those that do are much more likely to be doing so for serious criminal reasons like bank robbery (where they aren't going to risk getting caught because they feel like shooting at a Sikh or Muslim or whatever). Americans have the constitution which says they can all bear arms, which means that any religious confrontation which escalates into violence is much more likely to involve guns.

How many religious hate shooting attempts were there in America last year? And how many in Britain?
