[PC] Inbox "New Message Flag"

Concise description:

• When you get a New PM you get a notification on your navigation that looks like the photo below. If you click your inbox but do not actually click on the message, the notification still goes away. I would like the notification to stay until you actually click to read the message.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

• More Intuitive: Your inbox is like email, the notification should not disappear until you actually click and read it
• Less Forgotten PMs: There have been instances where I have 4-5 new messages and I normally handle them 1 by 1 instead of reading them all at once. Sometimes I forget that I actually did NOT handle a message because I got so far sidetracked working on another. (I can't imagine being a mod handling loads of PMs)

Yep, I've thought this would be a good thing for a while. I do not know whether this is a phpbb thing or something CC can do (feels like the latter to me, but what do I know?).

On a related note (but for another suggestion), I'd like the ability to mark PMs as unread, but I suspect that is a phpbb thing.

I don't think I agree. I have 8 "unread" items in my box now and it's because they are part of a chain or junk that I don't care to read. I don't want to have to look at the side say (8 new). I know I could delete them but you could also read them once you click on inbox.

If you are being serious, and you wish that you didn't have to click on messages at all in order to not be aware of them ("bothering you"), then that would be a completely different suggestion going the complete opposite way of this one.

If you are being sarcastic, and you don't think that people should complain about having to click on something in order to not be aware of it ("bothering" them), then you've kind of missed the point of this suggestion.

Or maybe I'm just tired. But I cannot figure out what you're trying to add here.
