2nd 1v1 Clan Challenge [Congrats EMPIRE!] MVP: pconnolly365
The original idea from [player]barterer2002[/player], he has given me permission to run the 2nd edition of the clan event.
EMPIRE won the inaugural event!
The original intent here is to have fun and show depth and breadth of clans so its intended to not have "specialist" dominating the challenges per se with a fun quick bracket tournament.
SIGN UP DEADLINE JULY 29!
START DATE: Sept 1!
A minimum of 8 clans will be used, I will take as many as sign up (depending on the number there may be a play in round).
All games will be 1v1. Each clan will have 20 home game series with a 41st game series played on Classic (auto seq no spoil, chained, sunny, no trench). Each game series will be a best of 5 series with identical maps and settings in all 5 games.
Clan Rep's will create the games and invite players.

For purposes of this event there will be no freestyle, manual or trench settings.
Unlimited forts will be allowed on certain (primarily single start) maps only (Feudal War, Feudal Epic, AOR1, AOR2, AOR3, Galapagos, Jamaica, New World, Lunar War, Poker Club, Monsters, Arms Race, City Mogul, Peloponnesian War, Das Schloss, Route 66, Treasures of Galapagos, WWII Poland, Clandemonium, King's Court, Baseball, Woodboro) (please let me know if I've missed any)
Beta maps will not be allowed. Beta Maps: 1982, Africa II, Dark Continent, Eurasia, Eurasia Mini, Island of Doom, Kings Court II, Knights, Portland, Rail Asia, Salems Switch, Trench Warfare
FOG OF WAR RULE is to be determined between the clans playing (default is NO FOW RULE).

The purpose here is to show the depth of a clan rather than merely that there are 1 or 2 stud 1v1 players in it. With this in mind, each clan must provide at least 12 different participants with each participant taking a maximum of 4 series out of the 40. 41st Game series will NOT count towards a players game series total.

Each clan may use the same map only twice in its home set and may not use Classic more than once (since it will also be used for the 41st game). If a map is repeated within the rules the players must be different in each series. Random can be used and does not count toward map totals.

1v1 games are relatively quick in nature so the schedule will go Week 1 Monday will have Clan 1 (higher seeded clan) create and send all games to Clan 2. Clan 1 must be in their home games by Tuesday. Clan 2 must be in their away games by Thursday. Week 2 will be the Classic neutral game only, Clan 1 creating and joining by Tuesday and Clan 2 joining by Thursday Week 3 will see Clan 2 creating all their home games and sending them to Clan 1 on Monday with all joined by Tuesday and Clan 1 joining all games by Thursday.

Prior to the start, one representative of each of the clans will send in a seeding chart of all other clans (not including their own). If the organizer finds any of the seeding lists unreasonable he will send such list to 3 other clan reps and if 2 out of 3 find it unreasonable that seeding list will be discarded. Depending on the numbers there may be first round byes.

Sign Ups End: July 29
PM to Leaders for Seeding votes: July 29-August 5th
Score Tabulated/ Bracket created: Aug 6-10th
Prediction Entries Accepted: Aug 10-31st
Clan Planning time given: Aug 10-31st (3 Weeks should be plenty of time to plan vs first opponent)
Start Date: Sept 1
First Games Sent: Mon Sept 3rd

Each clan shall set up a page in the clan forums detailing the clan war and when one or the other wins their 21st set (must be over, not merely not in doubt) send me a PM with the results.

Clans may negotiate settings outside the "general" settings for their specific wars.
No "fog of war" rule breaches will be remade. Site rules for timing out, missing turns etc apply.
Penalties:
Escalating Scale for Penalties (wrong settings, not enough players used, and player exceed maximums) Games to be Corrected and:
1st - Warning and Game Remade
2nd - Game Remade w/ 1 of 5 games scored for the opposition
3rd - Game Remade w/ 2 of 5 games scored for the opposition
4th - New Clan Contact and Forfeiture of the 5 Game Series
All future - Forfeits

I think a good rule to go by is one "series" per freemium, per round. But they need to play enough keeps / keep slots open enough that it doesn't hold up the round.
If it begins to be a problem for any clan / individual the clan / individual maybe asked to limit that players involvement or open more slots etc.
All other issues not listed here will be decided at my discretion, and if a conflict of interest occurs a CD will be consulted.
To sign up I'll need your clan name, primary contact and secondary contact. If you'd like to list the players you may but it will not be necessary.

hi Ice
many clans have people who go to school and are hesitant to take on heavy game loads in August.
can you set up the timeline so the competition starts in early September?

As last years finalists alongside us, you could quite feasibly get a bye as one of the top seeds?

I'm flexible with start up. The original thought was starting sometime in early-mid of August.
Tho I agree w leehar, there are still play ins / byes to be considered so there may not be a need.
Ultimately people can comment here and if there is strong support for Sept 1 and not an August date I can work with that.
Please vote on timing.

The best of 5 series, does that have to include the same player in all five of the games?
And I'm checking with my fellow fourskins to see if we will be in.

Yes. 20 home maps, best of 5 for each map. One player plays the entire best of 5.
IE: IcePack Classic ESC ch sun (best of 5)
Patrickaa Lux flat rate ch sun (best of 5)
Etc

Did you send a pm call-out to all the competitors from the previous iteration?
Also, feel free to use the article by Bart since he's handed over the reigns to the tourney to you.

FOED is interested, though not sure if we'll have enough people to qualify.
August start will probably be mission impossible for us. if it's September we'd likely
have the requisite number (I'll recruit few people in the meantime).
