We are a group on CC that loves to play chess! We will have a ladder (ranks 1-10 at the start, hopefully more will join us). Anyone is welcome to join so long as you enjoy the game of chess! This will be a closed group, only because we would like to keep track of those who enter, so we can add them to the board . We will play chess at http://www.chess.com

On another note, even though I enjoy chess and have been playing for quite a while in my life, apparently I'm not that good. I've lost my first 3 matches and am now ranked in the 800-900 range.

Maybe I should just stick to CC...


Also, shouldn't this probably be in Callouts under the Create/Join a Usergroup forum? It's not really a clan, is it? Just curious.

I go to irl chess club twice a week and rating has nothing to do with your enjoyment of chess. This group is for people who enjoy playing, like yourself, regardless of rating. I can envision there being threads about strategies and stuff on how to get better but there's no way I would be part of a chess group that was 'elitist' or only for people of a certain rating, as that in my opinion goes against the spirit of what chess represents.

Yeah, I wouldn't join if it was like that either, mainly because they wouldn't let me join, since I can't keep that kind of rating.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we need at least 10 to get the usergroup and the forum.

BTW, there's another page, where you can play (for free) non-rt chess. The same as CC (well there's no premium, and only one setting, normal chess, but you can choose the time or for the overall game or by turns)
