It will also be for premium only due to the size and number of games that will be played in each tourney. You must sign up for each tourney.
For the most part, I went with maps that represent current cities countries and continents (when creating this series). Going through them all, I found 49 land based and 2 space that fit the bill for this tourney. There will be 50- YES 50 regular tourneys, and 1 final championship tourney.
Each map will be its own tourney. We begin with the few city maps that there are, move on to countries, the globe and finally space. The final will be a 64 man single elimination and the playing field will be determined by the 50 winners, plus 14 entries which will be wild card entries, based off of player kills. A player kill is determined by each round winner, not individual game victories. Championship tourney information found here: viewtopic.php?f=89&t=150581
There will be 14 wild cards for those players with the most kills, without having won a tourney. If there are more than 14 players resulting from the kills, then those players with the lowest qualifying kill total will play a small series of games to determine player advancement. Basically this means that if you win a tourney along the way, your kill count is no longer relevant.
For example: There are 18 total qualifying wild cards. 10 of those players have more kills than 8 who have the same amount. The 10 advance automatically, whereas the 8 who have the same amount would play in 4 1 vs 1 match-ups. The 4 winners advance, completing the field of 64.
Qualifying tournaments will be played in the order listed below. The winners of each tourney will win a spot in the final. If you happen to win more than one tourney, then all the better for you since each win earns you a spot in the championship. There is no limit to the number of spots you can win in the final. However, if you happen to win multiple tourneys and you are matched up against yourself, one is eliminated and one advances with no games played.
Game settings remain the same in each qualifying tourney:
Automatic
Sequential
Chained
Escalating
Foggy
No Trench
32 players per game
1 vs 1 match-ups (no seeding, initial match-ups from random.org used)
Rounds 1-4 will be 2 of 3
Final round will be 3 of 5
Each round, all games will be sent at once
