nobody seems to be taking the blame for any "secret, behind the scenes maps" and yet they keep popping up.

Oh hey, this sounds like some kind of Soviet Russia doublespeak.

Which non-special occasion maps have been made in the private foundry?

Nopes, that was made by nobodies. Non-special maps haven't been made by the Special Foundry before now. If you don't know what I'm talking about read the first post of this thread.

Apparently I missed this piece of genius 2 months ago.
What happened? f*ck, can you read? This thread is all about what happened to "cause all this disgruntlement". The thing that happened is right there in the first post.
Seriously, do they hire some sort of brain dwarfs for team CC these days?
(yes. the answer is yes.)

The point, i think is that the foundry system is too slow. If the site will let me change the things in the way I would change them it won't be so slow.
Like, so slow that from the day someone announces the plans to make a certain map, two months later there still isn't anything to show for it?
Is that the kind of slowness you're talking about?

a map in the foundry can take 6-12 months of even more so 2 months is nothing.

A sort of....although the foundry system is slow for other reasons...like the lack of feedbeack from the community/CAs in the earlier stages of development, but you well know what I'm talking about.
@ DiM, 6-12 months to be finished....it's different (but still too much
). I think natty is talking about a draft or something like that not about a finished map.

if somebody is making a world xl map behind the scenes i'm not expecting to see a draft. i imagine i'll see it already in beta/quenched. this has happened with all previous secret maps.
so maybe 2 more months will pass and all of a sudden we'll see the map pop up in beta. that would make a total of 4 months which is still faster than most maps in the foundry.

Afaik it shouldn't work in that way this time....usually people learn from mistakes.

impossible. the secret maps don't have such good graphics.

Re: Did you know...
I really like all of the maps MrBenn made...except Christmas.
There's something intrinsically unholy about that map which scares the living crap out of me (I had to see a doctor about that).
At first I thought it was the red/green colour combination, and maybe that's part of it.
Christmas in general is a novel idea for a map, and the special events it allows for are very well done.
But then, people have gone to the effort of making those maps, and I don't have to play them (in fact, I even pay $25 a year to be able to play them as much as I like), so I just thought I'd share my opinion.
If I were to make a Christmas map, it would probably be a map of the north pole, with bonuses for making gifts (maybe should be in China in that case).
Eh.

We should make a US Olympic Basketball team map. I think they're the only guaranteed gold medal in the Olympics.

Tisha's and natty's maps are the most aesthetically appealing.

Well, hope you enjoy them, because the way things are going they're probably the last I'll make for this site. (Speaking only of my maps, not Tisha's...)
