yea no offense to LHDD but they arent ninth, they lost to ID who are 16th.atm they are top 15 at best.im sure it will even out as they play more wars.

idk why Thota and nemesis have reappeared, i thought they were gonna be taken off since they are no longer active clans.

MudPuppy wrote:Not that it's a huge deal but I don't like that the F400 is delayed from being posted in the clan forum in order for the newsletter to get an exclusive first showing of it. The results are now 10-days old and appear to have excluded at least 5 wars that were completed in May... presumably in order to meet the newsletter's submission deadline.

I'd prefer the results get posted here first whenever they're ready and that the newsletter then reports on it in their following issue. The newsletter is a great resource for a one-stop summary of various happenings in CC but for most everything else they simply report what's already been announced elsewhere... and I think that's the best approach. The resulting delays and omission of completed wars are more of a downside than any benefit the newsletter might gain for being able to report the results exclusively.

is that the way they do it? That is a horrible idea.
I didn't even know they still had a CC newsletter.

Just curious: How many wars must a new clan complete before being added to the F400 list?

(The Ulti-M8's completed their second war in May.)

It's not based on # of wars, but by "weight". Clans slowly lose "weight" from previous results. So in order to stay on the chart you have to keep up with so many wars, etc. Once you've gained enough weight (150 pts) then you'll show up on the chart.

I'm sorry that the rankings don't live up to you're guys' lofty standards. I guess Lack can dock my pay..oh, wait...

I was in a hurry so I forgot to take THOTA and NEM out of the ranking. Not really majic.

What difference does it make when they come out. If they come out on the same date it really doesn't matter. Are you only able to look at the forums on the 1st day of the month? Odd.

As I remember it, FD sometimes went 2 months or more between updates. So be appreciative that I update it every month. Frankly, the people that bitch about it in this thread makes me want to quit doing it.

Where's the frustration coming from, Gunn? We are appreciative. Thank you for keeping this ranking going. =D>
I simply offered a suggestion that causes you no additional work which I thought most of the clan community would prefer over having to go through the newsletter to view the results of your efforts. A while ago I offered to update your spreadsheet to help catch miskeys and make your work on this easier. Totally your prerogative to listen or not or accept the help offered or not. I see no reason to get so defensive, though.

Thanks!

I found an earlier posting that indicates each war has a max weight of the number of games in the war, and has a decay rate of 25% for every 6 months. All of this (including the 150 minimum) would be good information to include in the initial posting of the thread.

It's lame to ask for appreciation. If you do it for appreciation - don't. If you don't do it for appreciation - don't ask for it.

I don't think he is asking for appreciation.... he is just annoyed that he puts in time and effort to get it done for us, just to have people criticise. He should get it though without asking. So many people do not realise how much time everything takes. Thankless task really.

Thank you Gunn :) I appreciate the work you do as well.

It's even more lame not to show appreciation, not to say "Thank you" or 'Sorry" when a favour has been done or when a mistake has been made.

Maybe an alien concept in Russia.

It is not alien at all to me. I just don't get how he can even think that people don't appreciate it as well.

But yeah, my grubby heritage might trickle into my words without letting my consciousness know about it.

I'm sorry this came across so negatively, was only trying to be helpful. I appreciate the work you do on this Gunn, the rankings are a fun part of the Clan experience, very glad you picked them up after FD left.

I don't need appreciation. I've said several times that I only do it because I want It done and was afraid it was about to die. I do, however, get irritated when people bitch and moan about details. I check this thread so that people can point out mistakes or give reasonable suggestions so when I open it up and see 5 negative comments it is disappointing.

Thanks Nicky, for commenting and seeing what I was saying.

Dako, that comment from you was no surprise. You're about as rude as I've encountered on CC.

To the other posters,
My response probably came off too harshly. I appologize for that.

I'm done reading this topic. If someone has corrections or reasonable suggestions. PM me.

I also love this ranking...without it winning some wars would be meaningless. I don't really understand how its calculated though. Are the results of all wars put into the system equally waited, or would a 25-24 win count for a lot more than a 6-4? Also, does a clan lose less points when a war is really close, or is it simply a win/loss system?

Also... Thanks for all the hard work Gunn!! An unappreciated endeavor to say the least!

I will start by saying im only repeating what ive been told, never seen the calculation but as I understand it....

The results are weighted in more than one way. the first being the margin of the win. So a 21-20 is worth few points and a 31-10 is worth many more. The points change also takes into account the relative rank of each clan, so a top clan will take few points from a bottom one for a slight win where as a bottom clan will take more from the top with the same win margin.

finally the actual weight of the war. With the 6-4 win, it will count for basically nothing, as its only of 10 game weight. Where as normal wars are 41+ games.

To show up in the ranking system you need 150 weight points, which is 150 war games completed. These weight points lose value over time, so after 6 month are worth half a point and 12 months are worth 0. So to stay in the ranking you need to keep up regular competition.

Hey Gunn, the Regiment has won (and lost) several wars since AKA. I'm not entirely certain if you calculate statistics based on clans fought only above you in standings? Here are the results from our past few wars:

9th War. Sept. 03, 2011 - Oct 23, 2011. (ACC) 1st Regiment (25) v. AOD (24) (Win)

11th War. Sept. 19, 2011 - Nov 16, 2011. 1st Regiment (18) v. TNC (23) (LOSS)

12th War. Oct. 04, 2011 - Feb. 15, 2012. 1st Regiment v. OSA (LOSS)

14th War. Oct. 22, 2011 - Dec. 22, 2011. 1st Regiment (26) v. The Last Warriors (22) (WIN)

15h War. Oct. 23, 2011 - Nov. 21, 2011. (ACC) 1st Regiment (20) v. Momento Mori (27) (LOSS)

16th War. Oct. 27, 2011 - Dec. 16, 2011. (NC, Rd. 1) 1st Regiment (29) v. MB (12) (WIN)

17th War. Nov. 22, 2011 - Dec. 6, 2011 1st Regiment (26) v. Warriors at Risk (LOSS)

19th War. Nov. 24, 2011 - Feb. 27, 2012. (NC2, Rd. 1) 1st Regiment v. Grim Reapers (LOSS)

20th War. Jan. 2, 2012 - Feb 27, 2012. 1st Regiment (22) v. Headless Horsemen (28) (LOSS)

21st War. Feb. 25, 2012 - Apr. 20, 2012. 1st Regiment (26) v. Legends of the Zone (22) (WIN)

22nd War. Mar. 2, 2012 - Apr. 18, 2012. 1st Regiment (28) v. Natural Born Killers (11) (WIN).

Plus CL4 wins and all that. :D

Brock (and anyone else) the wars that are included are listed in the OP in the Spoiler on the bottom. Check the list before asking if it's included.

P.S. The scores you listed weren't even correct for the NBK challenge when I checked it.
