i guess people havent been following hockey that long otherwise they'd realize regular season standings often offers no indication of who is going to win during the playoffs

i remember people were calling me stupid on this board 2 years ago becauseI said the Capitals weren't built for the playoffs and they weren't this invincible team as promoted by the idiots on the televsion set.

The Kings are built pretty well for a playoff run but I guess the seedings or statistics or more important

I would not be surprised that the Kings won their first round series against the Canucks. What is surprising is the way they are doing it.

Anyway...some damn great hockey last night!

as far as the Flyers-

I dooubt they get past Boston or the Rangers

I think they'd have an above 50% chance to beat anyone else in the playoffs but they're not getting past either one of those teams

maybe if Mezaros was healthy but i heard he's probably out until the 3rd round otherwise unless pronger makes a miracle return our only hope is for Washington and ottawa to knock them out

As a Red Sox fan, I understand that a series isn't over until it's over.

So... what's the algorithm for how you pick your sports teams?

Penguins - I liked watching Lemieux and Jagr play to together when I was a kid
Broncos - '98, when they won their second SB, I was in second grade. MY class voted on who we thought would win. I voted Broncos, they won, I became a Broncos fan.
Red Sox - Red's my favorite color and I was 8...
Heat - When I was four, my parents got me a Toronto Raptors hat (for Easter, no less. And this was right after they became an expansion team). I was a Raptors fan since then, but I loved Wade ever since he came into the league, since I play basketball in a similar fashion (great at driving, mediocre jump shooter). Then Bosh, my favorite Raptors player, went to the Heat, so it felt natural just to switch teams. I guess that makes me a frontrunner, but shut up.

So the Blackhawks are screaming bloody murder over the Torres hit (which was illegal I will admit). Were they this outraged when Duncan Keith took off Sedin's head with his elbow?

Bryzgalov is such garbage and the Flyers defense is a joke right now as well.

I wouldnt be surprised if pittburgh comes back and wins the series

3 goals in the 1st and you should be locking the series down, not down by a freaking goal

they definitely will win this game, 9-3 last i heard? but the series is still 3-1 in philly favor, thats hard to overcome...
They would really need to keep firing on all cyclinders. Pretty sure philly will finish off pens even if its in game 7.

Wow. So I was debating whether or not to go to rugby practice and figured "I'll go, but I'll wear my Penguins beanie". After practice, I call my friend, he tells me the Penguins are up 10-3 and I instantly shit my pants.

I don't want to say we're going to win the series now, because that's pretty stupid, but holy shit...it really reminds me of the Red Sox in 04. Even though that was a extra innings win over the Yankees, the momentum from that game was incredible.

If we're able to win next game at home, it's a series.

We're a more skilled team than the Flyers. Fleury is a better and more proven goalie than Bryzgalov. When we play hard, we can win. That's the reason the Flyers won the first three...we looked like a bunch of retards trying to hump a doorknob.

Eagles should be good this year I think. Vince Young was an idiot with the "dream team" line last year...it's too hard in football to be good when you get a bunch of free agents like that.

Unfortunately they're in the best division in the league.

I turned on the game and it was right after the goal, which sucks ass.

Perfect shot though...between the defender's legs, top right shelf.

One game at a time... Pens & Nucks live to skate another day.
