I am now accepting signups for the 2012 MLB 2v2 tourney.
Teams
In this tournament, each team will sign up to represent one of the 32 teams in the Majors. You will choose your home map and settings for your games (freestyle, manual, speed will not be accepted). Once a map has been chosen by one team it's off the table and cannot be chosen by anyone else. Also, each game will have a limit of 30 rounds just in case people get into stack fests.
Schedule
Instead of a full 162 game schedule like in the real world, each one CC game will represent the entire series between the two real life teams (series consist of 3 and 4 game sets, and occasionally 2, so you will get one CC game per series). So instead of 162 games per CC team, you will play roughly 1/3 of that, or about 55 games. I will send games out (usually 4 at a time) every two weeks, though it is possible I may send out more games than that at one time just to keep things moving along at a fast pace.
Restrictions
Because of the amount of games being played, and because the tournament could run for several months, only premium members will be accepted, and you must have completed at least 75 games with a turn taken percentage of 96% or better. Failure to accept an invite to a game after 48 hours will result in a forfeiture. If this happens more than twice, I will ask your partner to find a replacement player.
[spoiler=Playoffs]At the end of the regular season the 3 division winners and 1 wild card team will make the playoffs. Any tiebreakers will be settled by one game on a random map using the most chosen settings for the tourney. The playoff teams in each league will then be seeded 1-4 based on their regular season record. The first round playoff matchups will consist of a best of 5 series; 3 games on the higher seeds home map and 2 on the lower seeds map. The LCS (second round) will be just like the first round, but a best of 7 with the higher seed getting 4 home games. The World Series will be also be a best of 7 matchup, but the 7th game in the World Series will be on a random map with the settings chosen most frequently in the tourney.[/spoiler]
