I just noticed that the legend still says "(Bonus with corresponding Colonial power)". That should say "European" to be consistent.

Nah that was something we worked out a while ago. We decided "Colonial" was better there since Turkey isn't by definition a European country

Well, the Ottoman Empire was referred to as the "sick man of Europe" and the map of Ottoman could include not only Anatolia but also East Thrace (carve it out of Balkan, and even let it touch Austria-Hungary, if you want to drop the Black Sea route). But if you don't want to change the map that way, then it should say "Colonial power" everywhere else, e.g., "Can be 1 way assaulted by any Colonial power..."

Stick with "European" The title in the legend minimap says "EUROPE." Start fiddling around with the technicality that the Ottoman Empire was mainly a Middle Eastern empire with a sizable portion on Europe under its control and it's gonna just screw with the theme...

Just make it be consistent. all "European" (as I and other suggest) or all "colonial"

that works for me. I've never had a problem including Turkey under the title European power. It was someone else's idea to change it but I'll happily change it back if that's preferred.

Well this map is about the Colonial powers in Africa so I say use "Colonial".

Oh god, conflicting viewpoints!

I'm going to go to work and when I get back I'm changing it to one or the other. So if you like Colonial power type "Colonial" if you like power "European". I'll go with which ever has the most and move on.

European.

And speaking of which, the minimap having Turkey floating ambiguously off to the one side is a lil odd. I suggest added the rest of the outline of Europe and connect it to the minimap.

Well this got me no where...

I tried it earlier and got rid of it cause I didn't like it.

Maybe you should wait another day for more input. I was busy all day and others might be too. (I prefer "European", because it ties to the "Europe" banner better.)

Also I met a Turkish man today, he seemed to count Turkey as part of "Eastern Europe"

It is now [read: since Ataturk probably] sometimes included (Wikipedia) though historically it doesn't have much in common with Eastern Europe.

Any distinction between Europe and Asia is purely artificial anyway.

I'm going with "European"

Also I added a tag in the legend that says "Grey territories belong to no bonus"

I took a good look at this map now. Can't see many things I'd like to change. You've done a good job :)! However the sea connection between Suez Canal and Luxor is not as clear as it could be! The line almost touches Levant so if you look at it quickly you might think it connects to Levant as well.

English is not my native language so I might be over my head here but I think it should be "belongs to" instead of "belong to" in the legend. Am I right or wrong :)?

It is belong. Maybe it can be written "Grey territories do not belong to any bonus". This way there shouldn't be any questions.

Sure, I moved it a pixel or 2 to the left.

No, it's correct as is.

In the right corner of the map you've written a couple of territory labels that are not part of the playable map. I think Russia, Persia and Central Asia should stay, but not Burma and Siberia! They're a bit too far away to be included and it doesn't look good to have territory labels on the right side of the legend. Let that area of the map be a mystery :).

The sea route looks much clearer now btw.

I don't know, I mean I don't really feel like they're hurting anything. Most people probably won't even notice them until the 2nd or 3rd time they play the map.

=D> =D> Looking forward to be playing this on beta :)!
Regarding the subtle names I still feel the same. A bit distracting with Siberia and Burma. Don't feel like they need to be there and they certainly don't add anything to the map even if they don't subtract much either.

No one cares if the names are there or not.
