*** UPDATE ***

+ changed mountains
+ added texture to the whole image
+ changed the water route to make it more noticeable
+ took the light blue glow down to make it less noticeable
+ added that trees and mountains are not passable

+ bridges still a work in progress...

Nice progress.

This is only my personal opinion ;)
your bridges looks good, to improve them you can add a drop shadow, that would do some magic. (same with the trees)

Mountains are super nice, pls keep them ;)

For the rivers, you can add a (dark) outer glow to make them "sit or melt" in the landscape, it will get them a more natrual look, rigth now they dont look like they belong. that you can also do with the coast line, but here to only getting the glow on the side towards the sea, you create a new layer (copy) of the outer border line, add a (ligth) outer glow, put the layer between the sea layer and the landarea layer.

your about to have a overall fitted theme, nice work =D>

I think it would look better if there were outlines surrounding the entire rivers, rather than just around the mouth.

it shouldn't? lol

I'm the one that drew the lines and looked at it..
just because it doesn't look like a mess, or busy to you... doesn't mean it doesn't to me.

I'll figure something else out.

I think it's better without the outlines, but the state outline going so far up the river is a little uneven. Erase the outline back to the end of the inlet.

I tried thinner also. thinner would be 1 pixel, and then it looks pixelated..

The sea route is clear now and I like the new bridges. Mountains look best of all.

I say change Burlington to Marlton.

Least of all...its where I have lived for 20 years now...

Since you've named Cherry Hill and Camden after two large population centers, Marlton deserves recognition since Evesham Township is the largest township in Burlingto County (pop wise)...and Evesham and Marlton are one and the same :) don't get me started on all that.....

Lets get this moving!!!!

It might make sense to change Cherry Hill to Voorhees since cherry hill would be located in what has been labeled camden.

Names are arbitrary... for every change that could be suggested, someone else can come up with 10 different names. Haddenfield, Evesham, Collingswood, Moorestown, Bellmawr, Ciniminson, etc, etc...

I agree with RB0. Names are the mapmakers prerogative, as they do not affect gameplay or graphics clarity. So let's leave what names are to be used up to the mapmaker, fair enough?

I like this map a lot, but as a Bergen County resident, I've got an issue with where you've placed "Paramus", and "Hoboken". Geographically incorrect. Also, you've got Clifton where Newark actually is, and Newark in Union County.

I think you'd be better off doing something like the NYC map. Put all the counties on the map, and then have the Parkway, AC Expressway, and Turnpike, etc on the map as bonuses.

I'm from Jersey also, so i'm pretty sure i know where everything is. Its not spot on, but its pretty close, i wouldn't say "geographically incorrect"

Can we agree that Paramus is North of Hoboken?
Can we agree that Hoboken is North of Jersey City?
Can we agree that Paterson is West of Paramus?
Can we agree that Clifton is North of Newark?
Can we agree that Union is South of Newark?
Can we agree that Elizabeth is South of Newark?
Can we agree that Union is West of Elizabeth?

I could do this all day. Look, i know its not an exact match, but i had cities/towns i wanted to include, so i fit them best i could.

Its not importend where everything are like an GPS, whats the most importend in a map are the gameplay, if it means that you have to push some borders around you do that. You create your graphics from a gameplay point of view, and I realy dont think people sits and nick picking where stuff dont fit down to 5 inch while they play, lets say a "speed game" hehe 8-)

Its your map and you are aloud to call cities/stuff what every you like. keep up the good work, looking 4ward to play it :P
