Invitations to minimize baiting/flaming/trolling

I totally understand:
-CC's desire to minimize baiting, flaming and trolling
-players lacking in self control that still need to bait, flame, troll (including myself on occasion -- to some degree, but usually joke and not nasty)
-someone said "if you read something, you can 1) agree 2) disagree 3) act like a dick <== and think there is a group of 30-50* people here that do #3 a lot).

. . .but what I don't understand is:
-CC Mod taking a reply that was purely meant to diffuse so much baiting/flaming/Trolling, and saying that the "INVITE to pull it out of public threads, and shift it into private Live Chat PM for Real Time exchanges" is baiting in and of itself.
-why so vocally nasty people (you all know who you are), HAVE to reply to threads -- and don't hash it out IN PERSON

When I asked someone in Social about it. . .there reply was:
-they don't want to discuss or settle anything
-they just want to stir things up
-they are afraid to confront people directly

Well, I think that is sad. And it almost makes me weep (yes, there I said it), that we have people on this site that will jab an run -- and NOT accept an invitation to discuss on Live Chat/Social/PM privately.

*I think it's insane for 30-50 people to claim they are the VAST majority --when they simply are not.

Feel free to agree or disagree, but I'm not looking for more baiting/flaming/trolling on this thread -- but genuine discussion by intelligent people. This is NOT about playing style, etc. -- but willingness (or lack thereof) to talk to those you've been slandering and libeling and exaggerating about.

Looking forward to good input and maybe some 1 on 1 discussions in Live Chat/Social/PM.

What advantage to yourself or this site will manifest from starting a thread like this?

Many members find your predatory style of play, ( Near farming, Bog-Rolling, or whatever label you wish to apply.) offensive, whether it be legal or not. Many members resent the negative impact you make when you roll new or low rank players, and the fact that you hold the conqueror title, frankly cheapens it when you have obtained it this way.

Now this is my humble opinion, but it is shared by many.
You show up in a thread where your objectionable, albeit legal, tactics are being discussed with this " Who Me???? Y'all a bunch of haters!!!" attitude, and smugly retort with tongue in cheek reply's. Your very presence in these threads are going to send a few over the edge.
( myself included....however more creatively than most...).

Far from me to suggest you stay out of the forums, but because you are what you are, you're a vector for hostility in whatever permit-able negative form the mods will let slide.


You may not see what you are doing/have done is inappropriate, but others do not share your opinion, and no amount of dialogue whether person to person, or in post form will change that.

You posting threads like this to claim the moral high road,
(Please people!!!! Can't we all just get along like civilized chaps?) comes across as transparent spin doctoring, and insulting to one's intelligence regardless of your true intent.

really? so a ban for not flaming? interesting... there is a thread in the clans section where a mod literally goes off and drops down some of the worst flaming i have seen around here in a long time... i don't think he got a ban... i don't understand the rules around here... you got a ban for NOT calling someone something, and a mod doesn't get a ban FOR calling a user multiple things... ok... i get it now.. sigh...-el Jesus negro

Okay here is my suggestion. To everyone who has someone they don't want to see posts from on the forum/live chat/etc... Just foe/ignore each other. That should put an end to flaming/baiting/trolling. (I hope anyways.)

Well, after an interesting live chat with G, I have come to a couple of conclusions.

1) Although we are not going to ever agree on the perspective of bogrolling, he does in fact have a decent skill set and a formula within the rules that is obviously effective.
2) Communicating with someone whos methods you do not aprove of, will not prevent you from being enlightened to some degree.
3) In other threads, my creative "not trolling-but close" replies to GLGH could be interpreted as "nasty". Parallels could be drawn to "not farming-but close" tactics ...in the whole arena of keeping within the spirit of C.C. rules.

I'll never consider you the best, but I will concede that you're good. Hating the player, not the game is unproductive. I was surprised to discover that simmiler views we're shared on reforming the scoring and ranking system, and perhaps I was overly judgemental and assuming about your character.

All in all, thank you for the chat. It was as productive as you pointed out in your first post.
