Yeah, I've got that book too. Got about a quarter way through and gave up reading  But it was good, the bit I read. I must dust the cobwebs of that book and give it another go.

Years ago at Uni I quit for a bit and bought a Rubik cub - every time I wanted a fag I'd do that instead to occupy my hands. It worked a treat....till I solved it. I started smoking again as a reward to my brain!

But I've stopped for good now (nearly 3 years!). The best thing the Scottish parliament ever done was to ban smoking in all public places. It really helped me as the times I used to smoke the most was after meals or when I was drinking. Every time I smell cigarette smoke I still want one, so it was hard to go to the pub with your mates and not smoke when they all are. It’s really easy now because the pubs and nightclubs are all smoke free.

I tell you once England starts the ban you will find it much easier to stop.

We have that law here, too. No smoking inside buildings (any structure with 3 or more walls and a roof). There was a bit of an uproar to begin with, but it's probably one of the best laws to come into effect here as far as smoking goes.

*update*

Failiure - Just got too tempting, bought a pack of 10. Will be giving up again after these. Did I mention that I have no willpower what so ever?

Any tips for giving up? These cigerette things are a bit moreish.

I will also now apologise in advance to everyone I end up flaming due to 'cig rage'

This Friday will be a month for me. Wish you all the luck, man.

I quit smoking about two months ago...

Didnt feel any different, Started smoking once per week
Learned i still crave for Cloves(no nicotine but worse lung wise)
and pot. I smoke alot less now, but still feel the need to inhale something.

Wait, so did you quit, or not?

Yeah, the need to inhale something really got to me, so I started exercising to get used to inhaling alot of air.

It's worked so far! I recommend it to everyone!

You didn't say how many attempts you've had. Because that's another thing, if you attempt repeatedly, you learn a bit more about yourself every time. Er, I don't mean that in a hippy-ish way, I mean in relation to your habit - you start to get a better idea of why you started again, etc.

Everyone can tell you what it's like for them, but no quitters are exactly the same.

ok, don't quit quitting just yet. When you get to the last one in the pack, leave it in there. Keep the pack with you and see how long you can go without smoking it.
The box said 'Requires Windows XP or better'. So I installed Linux.
