heres a list of all the victims...notice about halfway down the page, the teacher who survived the holocaust just to be shot and killed at VT. he was blocking the door with his body to allow his students to escape. he is a true hero.

that is a true hero, and very sad. there are not that many more people alive from the holocaust, and one of the survivors gave his life for the students

Really, I blame the media. They focus on such an atmosphere of fear and violence that if you want to go out and make a bang because you are sick of life. A massacre is the way to remember. The funny thing is the citizens aren't the only ones doing it half the time.

Former Hokie quarterback Michael Vick is helping launch an effort to help victims of Monday's shooting at Virginia Tech. The Atlanta Falcons quarterback's foundation is making a $10,000 donation to a newly established United Way fund.

Kymn Davidson-Hamley, executive director of the United Way of Montgomery, Radford & Floyd, said the money will provide assistance for funeral expenses, transportation for victims' relatives and mental health services, among other costs.

Donations can be made via the United Way chapter's Web site, which can be found here.

Contributions also can be mailed to the United in Caring Fund for Victims of the VA Tech Tragedy at UWMRF, P.O. Box 6202, Christiansburg VA 24068. Davidson-Hamley asks that contributors indicate clearly that they want their donation to go to the fund.

It's not so much a case of insanity as much as some people drive other people completely nuts. This guy who was accused of doing the shooting was said to have been pushed around a lot. Not surprised that he lost it at some point, although killing 33 people is still unbelievably nutsy.

They reward the stories that involve death by lots of coverage.

Why would getting media coverage make a difference if they'll be dead, and not around to see it?

incorrect, the media coverage makes them better remembered.

Do you remember columbine?

Will you remember VT?

Do you remember Oklahoma City?
