Lol, with your maps, looks like a lot of these will be(and are being) decided by who goes first ;)

The fairest 1v1 maps are also the most complicated, so I wanted a map that was somewhat large to provide chances for both sides, but not so complicated as to scare people away (trying to make this a fun and accessible tournament). Perhaps if people end up liking the format I'll run a second one with more complicated settings.

game # 10062190 - it is now sunday night and my opponent still has not appeared. can you get him on board, or get a replacement, or simply give me a win.

Idk, I'm just seeing in such large maps where you're starting with 5-8 troops on your first turn, it seemingly gives an even more impregnable advantage? the propensity to destroy your opponent before he starts seems to be huge

I agree, but on the flip side it's much easier to play strategically and come back from a deficit when you have 6 troops vs your opponent's 8, whereas in a smaller map coming back from a 3 vs 5 deficit is much harder, since you're at almost a 2:1 disadvantage. There have actually been quite a few games where the person going 2nd has won, I'm keeping a tally on the first page and will send out statistics at the end of each round.

I went 2nd in all 3 games but won 2 of the 3. I have a 3-1 lead by my count.

What are the damn odds that I have to go second in all five games in the first round?

I'm about to be knocked out because of it.

Nevermind. I rallied in a very tough first-round matchup.

Well...with the odds stacked against me, I was able to pull off a win in that round.

Went 1st in only 1 out of 8 games, and was able to win 5.5 points to 4 points.

all up to date again. Apologies for the scoring mistakes and thanks to those of you who have messaged me or posted in this thread to correct me. It's a big tournament and I'm just one guy, so if it looks like I've made a mistake it's probably because I have :)
