I hope we can generate some creative ideas for improving the concept and graphics of this map! Please post any opinions and criticisms in this thread as we will consider any and all comments in the making of this map.

Ok, we already have Soviet Union map which shows basically almost the same land area. What different does this map provide?

Also, where's Moscow?

Natty, if you know your history then you would surly know the difference between the Soviet Union and Russia...

And i haven't put Moscow in yet.

Sure, but I don't see much difference in the maps. What does this map provide that the current Soviet Union map doesn't?

I think you're going to need to do more to set it apart, figure out some kind of hook that will make players think it worth playing. Maybe some more interesting gameplay.

Yes yes, we all know the difference between Russia and the USSR, but for the sake of creating a new map does anyone really care? This just strikes me as a smaller less interesting USSR.

you know what would be cool would be would be a Russian empire Map, which is essentially the Soviet Union. But perhaps the gameplay could be tweaked to give it a more imperial feel. For example the map would include the various territories that comprise Russia such as Kazakhstan and all the other stans, which would offer a bonus by themselves for the regional territory, but then would give a big bonus if held with Moscow or St. Petersburg. As an added feature there could also be areas of the Mongol empire to fight over. But a map of the Russian Federation seems just a little bit too plain.

Alright well we clearly missed the similarities between the ussr map and our map so I don't believe we'll continue with this concept.

It seems that the map maker is abandoning this idea, I'm going to move it into the recycling box.

edit: oops! Looks like I moved this into the melting pot instead of the recycling box.

Shouldn't this be moved to the melting pot?

Russia has some extra letters in. Namely R,S,I & A. ;)

Russia is a country and the Soviet Union is a collection of countries (supposedly independent but really ruled by the almighty motherland).
