Remove Card Gained Info From Game Log

Post by Hazmaniac »

Lackattack,

I don't think that when you knock someone out of the game and receive their cards, the log should detail which cards you have received. The remaining opponents will try and might succeed in deciphering what your future strategy may be based on those cards. Just a suggestion.

Is it possible in a game to see how many cards each of your opponents has?

It's a good question Scarus... what do the official Risk rules say? I always played with everyone able to see how many cards everyone had (although, of course, not what the cards were.)

You can of course do it informally now just by keeping counts as the game goes along. I have no problem with the way it is, but if you want to add a counter somewhere...?

In the real risk, you are suppose to show at any time the number of cards you have...

Cards

Post by Scarus »

I know I have the rules around here someplace...lol

I don't remember, but I do know that when we played we always had to show each other how many cards we had. Most of the experience that I've had over the past several years has been with playing RiskII online at the MSN Gamezone, using the RiskII CD. In that game there is a drop down menu where you can see how many cards each player has. This knowledge really affects the strategy in the escalating games. When someone has four or five cards everyone trys to take them out for their cards.

Maybe putting the # of cards next to each player's name on the dashboard?

Sounds good :)

Also, maybe put their status next to their name... so like... status name cards or something.

status being the greed, red, or yellow dot.

cards

Post by Scarus »

That sounds good to me lackattack. Coincidentally, I just went to one of my games and saw that one of my opponents turned in a set of cards and hammered me. I know I wouldn't have attacked him the prior turn if I had known that he already had four cards.....lol

I was about to suggest this!

Yeah, I would absolutley love to know how many cards my opponent has. I'd also like a feature built just for me telling me what cards my opponent has, but I'm guessing that's nowhere in the rulebook :D

If you knew which cards everyone had that would take too much of the Risk out your decisionmaking. You just have to sit there and wonder if he's gonna collect or not.....lol
