Better off: Homosexual or Dead?

"Thou shalt not kill" was given to the Hebrews at a time when they were at war. Only an idiot would fail to make the distinction between war and the killing that was forbidden (murder). In the New Testament, when the soldiers asked Jesus what they should do, He told them "do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely, and be content with your wages" (Luke 3:14). Just what he meant by "violence" could and has been debated. Notice that he didn't tell them to leave the army, so i myself would say that it's doubtful he was referring to violence in battle.

Jesus sent His disciples out on their own twice. The first time He told them to take no swords. The second time He told them to take swords but when they said they only had two He said that was enough. Since He sent them out in pairs, 4 of the 6 pairs would not have swords, so it's not clear why He even bothered to tell them to take them.

At any rate the warning in the New Testament is clear - "he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword" (Revelation 13:10). Myself, i can live (or die) with that. I'd rather be killed violently than waste away in some hospital bed when it's my time to go.

If you're genetically predisposed to homosexuality or bisexuality, it's really no big deal AT ALL if you participate in homosexuality or bisexuality. The rational for religious texts: Orthodox Torah, Catholic Bible, etc preaching vehemently that it is for lack of a better word a sin is because to partipate in homosexuality or bisexuality if you're not genetically predisposed to it is just straight up dangerous. A person forced or coerced or whatever into this type of situation (Unless it's because they're just totally pussied out which is very rare) is probably going to suffer from some sort of psychosis for the rest of his life and one of the many many many dangers of psychosis is the unpredictable nature of it. Basically, you rais children that homosexuality or bisexuality is a sin or immoral and if despite all that, they say or think to themselves something along the lines of, "If what I'm thinking is wrong than I don't want to be right." Well then that person is meant to be gay and to deprive them of that right or chastise them for it is also immoral.

One would assume any parent who has raised a child to military age would care enough for said child to choose life over accepting their child as a homosexual. However, this particular individual seems to feel otherwise:

Today, if my son was going into the military, I would be more concerned about him coming home a gay person than worrying about him getting wounded or killed in battle.

Then that's the answer to the question, better off homosexual than dead. This thread went way off topic a while ago, and I'm not sure if the 20 odd people who voted that they'd prefer a soldier coming back dead than gay are able to stand by their votes, or if they actually understand what they're saying.

I would hope so. I've seen a few too many posters that I have respect for weigh in against the homosexual side on this thread. I hope they just misunderstood the options.
