your early season tournament spans the slots assigned for Games 1 & 2...the game vs. James Madison is part of your regular-season slate.
This will all be more clear once I'm able to finalize schedules and get that link posted.

Re: NCAA College Hoops 2011-12 — (update Nov.17)
Coach Limbo's Bruins took a tough loss in the Maui Invitational, when the Charlotte 49ers took an early 22 point lead, dominating possession with 3 straight starts. Late in the game, the Bruins rallied to within 12 points, but it was too little, too late. The Niners won the tournament match 78-66.
After the game, Coach Limbo appeared calm. "Its too early in the season to panic. The boys played hard out there and didn't let it get out of hand. Maybe we had a few too many Mai Tais during warmups, but we just need to focus on the next game and hope the ball falls our way."

all of the game 4s are out, except those in tournaments awaiting opponents.
I will be spending the long weekend finalizing the full-season schedule and updating results.
Happy Thanksgiving all

Re: NCAA College Hoops 2011-12 — (update Nov.17)
This keeps coming up...so a quick explanation.
If you are involved in an early-season tournament I will pm you with future matchups as the bracket takes shape. So if you get a Game 4 before you've seen a Game 3 that's the reason. Go ahead and join Game 4. You don't have to play the games in order or anything. Your Game 3 (tourney game) will show up in your inbox when the matchup is available. This most effects these early weeks of the season.
And I will be working on updating results over the weekend, so I'm anticipating sending out a bunch of tourney games over the next couple days.

Re: NCAA College Hoops 2011-12 — (update Nov.17)
hey Flex, just curious. Why do you PM the invites instead of using the invite feature?
Re: NCAA College Hoops 2011-12 — (update Nov.17)
The cowbells were ringing in New York again as Coach Dub's Bulldogs chased Nate the Great's Duquesne Dukes out of the building. Getting the jump with a strong start (all three maps) and a well oiled first line (big bonus on one map) meant the Bulldogs could only ruin things. Dub was happy with his teams performance as they fought hard to keep the ball and came out on top of the Dukes.
Many thanks to Flex for organizing such a great tourney and working hard to keep everyone informed.

Because pms allow players to keep them in their inbox...since this tourney is open to freemium players this allows them to wait a few days (if needed) and still have access to the games. This also works for premium players who may be away for the weekend or some such thing.
Invites expire after 24 hours.

Well, it looks like the Duquesne Dukes are off to their usual slow start to the season. They went 1-1 in the season opening tourney and are now struggling in the opener. Slow starts continue to plague the Dukes (out of 12 games they have only started 2) and poor mistakes (dice aren't helping) and it may take another late season run to thrust them into the tourney for a third straight year.

unranked UCSB goes into enemy territory and upsets highly ranked, #8 Purdue in a huge season opener.

Re: NCAA College Hoops 2011-12 — (update Nov.17)
The Bulldogs are enjoying the start to their season going 3-0 by taking out #10 James Madison at home. Home court advantage plays huge for the Bulldogs and Coach Dub believes that Mass Miracle's Dukes would be just as difficult to beat on their home court. With the Bulldog's game 4 on the road against #38 St. John's the team is going to have to work really hard to stay undefeated. The coach for St. John's has a strong record at home and Coach Dub has never done very well in the Kafkaesque stadium.

#21 Georgetown got off to a great start with a win over Kansas in the Maui Invitational. "You never know how things will turn out when you play an early season game on a neutral floor against a tough opponent but we were happy to go in there and get a win," said coach Benzor. Georgetown awaits the winner of UCLA and Charlotte in the semi final and opens their season with a trip to Central Florida followed a home game against Stanford.

Re: NCAA College Hoops 2011-12 — (update Nov.17)
I'm going to be happy to be done with the pre-season NIT. In three San Francisco Sunny/Flat match-ups I could've won all three match-ups and the breaks just went against me and I only won one of three. That was a tough pill to swallow. Now instead of 4-0, I'll likely be 2-2 after four games.
Well, another slow start for the Butler Bulldogs. But we started out slow last season and that turned out alright.

After taking a a beating against Duquesne and losing in grand fashion, in the opening games of the 2KSports Classic, and then getting bruised up in the consolation game against Akron, the UofA Wildcats have come back strong with two wins beginning their season to be a meager 2-2, but watch out folks. The Cats' are on the prowl.

After a long, close battle, LaSalle pulls out a narrow victory over #11 Villanova. Despite a strong finish by Villanova, they were unable to overcome an early lead gained by LaSalle, finishing the match 74 to 73. Well fought opening match!
Re: NCAA College Hoops 2011-12 — (update Nov.17)
Right on the heels of LaSalle's first victory comes another win over #10 James Madison, with a final score of 78-72.

What determines when you update scores? Did I miss somewhere that we need to post results? (Sorry if so!) My game 1 has been finished for awhile now.

ROCKETING TO THE TOP
Toledo's strong opening schedule hasn't seemed to cause it any problems. The Rockets have scored double digit victories in all of their games thus far. Not known as a basketball powerhouse, Toledo has now upset three ranked teams in four weeks.
The Rockets cruised to a 86-61 victory over Virginia Tech in the opening round before a challenging back-and-forth with #3 Butler in round two. The Rockets ended up on top 80-69 in a contest that saw both coaches get T'd off and T'd up in an verbal exchange between periods.
The Rockets then headed home to face #7 Utah. Proving that the NIT performance was no fluke, Toledo soundly dispatched the Swoops back to the U with a 95-53 victory. Coach Agentcom sent a message to the rest of the NCAA, leaving all of his starters in through the final buzzer and posting a 32-16 run in the final period of a game that was long over.
Toledo then traveled to Berkeley to take on 26th ranked Cal Bears. The Bears, sorely missing a few of their key starters, fell 85-65 on their home court.
The impressive performance thus far has led some to wonder whether Toledo (Toledo!) will see some love from the pollsters as the next round of rankings are published. Toledo finished a season ranked by either major poll since the 1977-78 season, when they finished at #19 in the AP poll.
In a phone interview Coach Agentcom said, "We tell our players not to worry about things like that ... well, usually we don't have any reason to worry about that."
"But wouldn't that be something."

Anybody know what is up with [player]The Red[/player]? He hasn't started our latest games here and it looks like he has been kicked out of a number of games for missing too many turns lately.

Re: NCAA College Hoops 2011-12 — (update Nov.17)
The beginning of the 2011-12 season saw the Northwestern Wildcats bound forward in somewhat surprising fashion. Traveling to Alabama for their season opener, they withstood a brief push by the Tide late in the second half and won 77-71. Game two found the Cats in round one of the Charleston Classic, where they picked up right where they left off. Northwestern rolled to a 93-55 win over LSU. After the game, Coach Glass commented on the two wins, "I'm really proud of our guys. Coming into the season, we weren't expecting this much offense. Hopefully, we can keep it going through the rest of the season."
