Also, here's a reminder as far as strategy goes. When setting up ships, one of the guidelines is that no ship can be next to any other ship horizontally, vertically or diagonally. There always has to be at least 1 empty space between them in all directions. So, you may want to keep that in mind as you pick your attack locations.

Yeah, sorry. I don't think I've ever strictly enforced that rule, but it has been getting longer. I'm losing motivation to continue this tournament, mostly because of the lack of participation. At the same time, I don't want to abandon it. So, I'm kind of stuck.

So your options are:

a, abandon the tournament, or
b, rigidly enforce your own rules (you should PM the team leaders a warning before doing this)

Personally I'd of left CC 12 months ago if it weren't for this, and I'll be going anyway when it's finished.

not sure if this has been pointed out but i lol'd at this:

There is one rule for ship configurations - adjacent ships must have at least one space between them (up, down, and diagonal). (...) These boards will not be available for public view, and will look similar to the following.

anyone else sees a problem here?

I know. I owe you guys an explanation. I'll tell you what I'm telling the players in all of my tournaments.

First, I'm sorry. My recent disappearance as a TO was unintended and unexpected. I bought a house almost immediately before the holidays, which resulted in a temporary loss of internet at home. All of these things combined to make keeping up with my tournaments virtually impossible. That being said, I am working to update all of my tournaments over the next few days. Please bear with me.

I will get this updated tomorrow evening.
