unfortunatelly no but if you use firefox and have adbloc you can right click on the disturbing image and select "adblock image"
i do this with nasty commercials avatars and signatures.

Yeah, and maybe if I switch I'll get fewer crippling viruses, too...

It's Greenland. A 6 year old would color it green because it's called Greenland and they would think it was green.

I'll agree if you are the one holding it while it burns.

I like the map, really creative.

I'm working on it as we speak, but I'm changing a lot of things around and trying to redo the whole crayon effect. So just hang in there a little longer.

I don't really care how many times the map has been updated... can you put what page the latest version is on in the thread title instead? It helps to catch up on the discussion if you haven't checked in for a while.

It's on page 1. It's always on page 1.

I mean so you can catch up on the discussion since the latest update. That way we can prevent the "I don't want to read all 20 pages" type comments and some of the repeated comments... maybe... And I don't like reading the comments in reverse order, so it'd be nice to jump to the right page and read them forwards.

Ask and ye shall recieve Draft 11:
Image

Issues addressed:
- ) Whew
- ) First, changed border shapes somewhat, most noticably in Asia
- ) Next, warped territories and lines to different thicknesses and shapes
- ) Then, changed to a new type of crayon effect in the territories and names
- ) Removed the optimistic concentric message
- ) Changed names of West Nile to Sarah Desert and Tarzania to Good Hope

Issues not addressed:
- ) Title
- ) Signature
- ) Changing the doodles to the new crayon format (if people like it)
- ) Any other brilliant ideas

The border between USA and Canada isn't quite complete. It goes most of the way down to Andy's Mountains, but not quite.

I'm not sure Good Hope is a good name for that territory. I can't think of a better name right now, but I'll probably come up with something later.

Yes I know that, but do you expect a 6 year old to know that?

The problem with the old crayon effect is that it's for area filling, not for lines. I'm still using the old one, for instance, for the Greenland green. It looked horrible for the territory lines, though. At least as far as I can see.

I agree that the old crayon effect was better.

Change crayon a bit.
Change 'Good Hope'
Misspell 'Bonuses'

I prefer the old effect as well, although I do like the uneven thickness of the borders.

I think that's what made it stand out. The old effect has an uneven fill, which suggests that the "child" who drew it is doing so for amusement, and not really caring how the lines turn out. The new effect looks like it was drawn carefully, taking care to keep the lines evenly shaded. To me, the old effect better resembles the how crayon tracings usually end up.

I didn't even know it was called Cape of Good Hope...

I wouldn't mind seeing it as just "South Africa". I'd expect the kid to know the continent names, and given that South Africa is actually a country, it seems likely that he/she would remember the name. I love Sarah Desert though :D

Those are the Black and Caspian seas. Ignore them if you wish; they actually don't affect gameplay.

Change the crayon, or change the crayons?

Come to think of it, I don't look at a lot of little kid crayon drawings on a regular basis...

Hahaha :P
I'm just trying to think back on the pictures I used to draw with crayons, as well as the colouring contests some stores and charities have.
