This is a league tournament of my own design. I am looking for 64 players to participate in this league. This tournament is open to both Freemium and Premium members. It is going to take some time to complete.
As this is my first time trying a league format, I want to let everyone know that I am open to suggestions in improving this tournament. Changes to game play of this tourney will only be done prior to beginning of tourney, or after it is completed. No changes will be made during the course of tournament play, but suggestions will still be welcome.

Due to the number of games to be played overall, free account holders must have completed at least 50 games, and be willing to commit 2 slots to this tournament for it's duration. (I expect it to run at least 3-6 months.)
If you do not wish to be in a tourney that lasts at least this long, please do not join.
I will be providing the winner with a Premium prize (1 Year). If I do not reach my 64 player goal, I will be modifying the divisions and possibly the number of playoff teams, depending on the number of players.
Ok, so here is the basic league layout. There will be 4 divisions. Each division will have 4 subdivisions, with 4 teams in each of those. The 4 main divisions will be North, South, East and West. Each subdivision will be numbered 1-4. Schedules have already been figured out.
I have been approved for 2 GA medals in this tournament. Keep reading for details.
[spoiler=Regular season structure]Players will play a total of 66 regular season games. Once the regular season is over, the playoffs will begin, and those advancing will be given more games to play. Overall standings will be similar to that of a typical professional sports format. All players will only play two games at a time, throughout the duration of the tournament, hence the length of play time for this tourney.
Throughout the course of the season, you will play each team in your subdivision 3 times each in a 2 game set; 6 games each; 3 home, 3 away for a total of 18 games in sub-divisional play. You will also play teams in the rest of your main division 1 time each in a 2 game set; 24 games; 12 home, 12 away. This totals 42 games. This gives you 15 opponents in divisional play.
Inter-league play
The remaining 24 games will be 4 random opponents from each of the other 3 main divisions, in 2 game sets, 1 home, 1 away. You should not have to play the same team again through the course of the regular season, providing you with 12 additional opponents, for a total of 27 regular season opponents.
As stated before, players will play their opponents in 2 game sets. The two games will be on each player's home map with their settings. When both games are finished, I will then look to be sure their next opponent's games are complete before sending new invites. No one will be playing more than 2 games at one time for this tournament, unless we happen to have nothing but premium account holders enrolled. Then the number of games played at once may be increased.
GA medal #1: For the player who has the largest win streak against opponents during the regular season. You must win at least 7 games in a row to be eligible.[/spoiler]
[spoiler=Playoff structure]24 teams will make the playoffs in this league. Winners of each subdivision will automatically advance into their respective playoff brackets. There will be 2 wild card entrants per subdivision, for a total of 6 playoff teams in each subdivision. Wild card entrants will be those 2 teams with the best record that did not win their division.
If any players are tied for either a divisional or wild card entry, those tied players will play in a single game to determine who clinches the spot. If multiple players tie with the same number, multiple games will be played.
Playoff game play will be determined as follows:
Divisional winners will be seeded 1-4 in each division, according to their regular season record. (in case of tie, 1 single random game will be played to give a specific seed.).
These brackets will determine the winners of the North, South, East and West divisions. Playoff format is as follows:
Divisional Quarterfinals: Wild card entrants vs. #3 and #4 seeds. Best of 3. (#3 plays 2nd best wild card and #4 plays the best wild card.) Seeds #1 and #2 get a bye.
Divisional Semifinals: #1 and #2 seed face winners of Divisional Quarterfinals in a Best of 5 series.
Divisional Finals: Winners of Divisional Semifinals in a Best of 7
Tournament Semifinals:
North Division winner vs South Division winner
East Division winner vs. West Division winner
These will be a best of 7 series.
Tournament Final: Winner of North/South vs. Winner of East/West in a best of 9.
GA medal #2: For the player who sweeps an opponent in a minimum of a best of 7 playoff series. (Games played 2 at a time throughout tournament, so this would be winning 4-0).
In each playoff series played, the player with the better regular season record will have the "home field" advantage. This would be seeds #1 and #2 in Divisional Semifinals and #3 and #4 in the Divisional Quarterfinals. Thus if they go the distance, they should have the edge. For example, if players go the full 5 games in the subdivisional finals, the player with the better regular season record will have their home map played 3 times to the other's 2.
In the event of a tie for regular season record in the Tournament Semifinals, the following tie-breaker will go in to effect. Players who advance to the Tournament Semifinals in shorter number of games. If players are still tied, will go to the total rounds played in those same games. If still tied, home field advantage will be randomly determined using random.org.[/spoiler]
Winner takes home the glory, the "Dragon League Trophy" and of course, the Premium membership.
IMPORTANT!
To join, follow these instructions. From the map list below, players must choose a home map and settings. Players MUST choose their home map, settings and provide a team name (MUST BE APPROPRIATE), and you can choose your main division if you like. If you do not choose a main division, once the tourney is full you will be randomly placed in to one of them, in one of the sub-divisions using Random.org. I will update the sign-ups nightly.
The only settings that will remain in effect for all participants is that play will be sequential, and games casual. All other settings are open, but no Round limits will be imposed.
There is a large list to choose from, and players ARE ABLE to choose the same maps. I am eliminating some maps from the CC list. For example, the Battle of Actium and the Hive maps have been removed, among others.
You must choose settings, home map, and a team name, or you will not be added to the roster.

[spoiler=regarding dropouts]Important note: Many league tournaments have players drop out of them when it becomes clear that they have little to no chance of winning. Should it become clear that a player is in this position, they may ask to withdraw from the tourney.
If the tourney is less than half over, I will look for a replacement. If it is more than half over, rather than try to find a replacement, or if I am unable to find a replacement, the remaining games that the player dropping out would have played will be assigned to other players remaining in the tourney. They will go first to un-played teams in other divisions.
So if player A drops out, and they still had games to play against players B and C. The games that players B and C would have played will then be assigned to 2 players that B and C have not played yet.
This results in the 66 game regular season still being played, just a bit differently.[/spoiler]
