Just curious: How did Waterloo place? It's my favourite map (I think it's the most complete map on this site - not everyone will agree, I know)...

Thanks,

What about the bottom 12? That would be more interesting to see.

Important Tournament Notice

The data for ALL of my tournaments has potentially been lost. I am working to recover it but as I am away on business all of this week, there will be some delay. Sincere apologies.

That's not too surprising. While they are popular maps, I think they might be more popular with the power-gaming crowd, and less so with the bulk of players who play on CC looking to play something close to classic world domination in set-up and map type.

But also, the poll could simply could have been too small of a sample size also!

the fact that world 2.1 came in front of classic by a mile and that doodle earth barely got the 12th spot in the top shows how "accurate" this poll is.

this was just a fun event where only very few people got to vote and most of them did it kinda randomly because the maps were absurdly distributed.

when it comes to popularity i think the number of games is a much better indicator even if it isn't a perfect one.

PS: the real top 12 should not include peloponesian wars. whenever 2 contestants are tied the next rank is skipped. in our case the top should look like this:
1. World 2.1 - 728 votes
2. Classic - 464 votes
3. British Isles - 426 votes
4. New World - 366 votes
5. Feudal War - 344 votes
6. First Nations Americas - 343 votes
7. Europe 1914 - 332 votes
8. Europe - 323 votes
9. American Civil War - 318 votes
10. Arms Race - 314 votes
10. Canada - 314 votes
12. Doodle Earth - 299 votes

Lets not get into a discussion of Popular Vs Favorite again. ;) Or if you want to, lets move it to General Discussion.

i am wondering if it costs anything to vote in the poll. i have my favorites, but am reluctant to vote due to CC's new direction of charging for things like tournaments. can someone please verify that voting in the poll is free and that i will not be charged, before i vote? thank you...-the black jesus

they were handed out Wed Nov 02, 2011.
if you didn't get yours and you think you should have you might want to check the contest scoreboard and see if you had the necessary points and then pm [player]samuelc812[/player]

I agree with several of these maps making the top. I am extremely happy to see the The American Civil War map made it. It is my favorite. Great job all on your maps making the grade. =D>
