Re: Escalating Fog: World Domination CONTINENTS
Joe B. wins game # 8618167, I'm fairly certain that's 3 wins for me.
How close are we to the next round?
Or we the last set that needed a winner?

This tournament thread has not been visibly updated in a while. By “visibly updated” I mean that the thread has not been bumped for at least 2 months by posting a new post or reply.
We routinely check the last few pages of the “Ongoing Tournaments” Forum for inactive tournaments. If your tournament thread is on those last pages, we have to check to see if your tournament is still active, which can be quite a lot of work.
Please help us in our quest to find inactive tournaments and update your thread regularly and then also post that you have updated it (if your tournament is still active). This will get the active threads and tournaments bumped to the first page, and significantly lessen our workload of checking for inactive tournaments.
For more information about updating your tournament thread and avoiding your tournament being labeled “inactive”, see also: Keeping Your Tournament Active & Updated

My vote is definitely for Classic, but I'm not a quitter, I'm in either way.
And Ironmaid, can you get her to move the soccer ball please?

Re: Escalating Fog: World Domination WORLD SUMMIT
I am cool with either map....
My only question would be if we keep the wins we have so far?
Or do we all start from zero if we start on the classic map?
But I will go with what the majority are happy with. As I have said before, I would like to win the tourney, but winning games (and keeping everyone happy) is more important.
So whatever map and if new points/old points, all is ok with me as long as there are no bad feelings with anyone afterwards

A few still haven't joined are they holding out for a change of map?
I'm okay with the change, but either way is okay with me, maybe you can see what's happening?

I'm out after this current set of games. When I signed up, it was for the opportunity to competed against solid players on World 2.0 if I survived a tough continental round. I understood the World round to be tougher for the leader as the round progressed b/c people would be more weary of losing. That and the vastness of the map made it excitingly competitive. Classic is not at all the same type of map. Players really just have to play their lay and the standings are almost not relevant due to the stacking formula in escalating classic. It's now became more of a combined matter of specialization and luck.
Fault me for not replying to the pm before if you will. But I had figured that World 2.0 is what the others had signed up for too and that it really wouldn't be switched. I personally considered ZionT's original decision to drop out of the tournament to be extreme. I had also been the victim of just as many poor strategic decisions from opponents and was yet to rack up a victory in the final round. But I understand that to be the very nature of multiplayer games at times so I didn't see that as a logical response. One really should avoid multiplayer tournaments if such a situation is going to cause him to drop out of the tournament.
In any event, the fundamental dynamic if not integrity of the tournament has been ruined for me, so I'm not going to continue.

Zion along Maid would drop so to keep the finals going
I changed to Classic and there was no response from you sooner.
Understand your reasons and thanks for playing so far.

You should have let them drop IMO. People that complain about multiplayer decisions should avoid multiplayer situations. I personally only do so many multiplayer games b/c of the craziness that results. Tension is always there for multiplayer games that does not exist in 1 v 1 or teams.
I do give you credit for being flexible and adaptable and so perhaps I'm just being a hardliner. Certainly no hard feelings here but I would recommend just finding formats you believe in and sticking with them wherever possible.

You can blame me if you like. I made my opinion known. My primary complaint was the length of these games on that map, not the nature of the multiplayer strategy involved in this type of tournament. I've played many tournaments with all the players here and have never dropped out before. I'm happy the switch was made because it would have been my first abandoned tourney and I didn't want to do that.
Again, it's your choice to voice your frustration just as it was mine and I certainly don't fault you for dropping. Good luck next time.
