The Conquer Club Champions League

This is my first time creating a tournament on any website so I’m sorry if this isn’t as detailed as some other tournaments. If you’re a fan of football (soccer for you Americans) you should know what the Champions League is. If not or you aren’t into football I’ll explain it.

The Champions League is the European Continental club competition. It pits 32 of the best teams in Europe from various countries against each other in a tournament which starts off in 8 groups of 4. After 6 matches have been played (each team will play the other 3 teams in their group twice, home and away) the top 2 in the group advance to the Last 16 (3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss). From then on it is 2-legged ties (home and away once again) until the final. The final will be played at a neutral venue and will decide who the best team in European football is.

My tournament is very, very similar to that format although since you cannot draw at CC you will gain 3 points for a win and 1 point for a loss. To simulate the home and away feeling when you sign up you will say the map you wish to be your “home” map. Most likely one which you feel you have a greater chance of winning on. After all 32 spots have been filled I will take 8 reserves (one for each group). After all group stage matches have been played the top two from each group will advance and be randomly drawn their next opponents. In the event of both teams winning their home games a tie-breaker will be played on the Classic Map (this map will also be the final).

So… for those that decided to skip that (although it is highly recommended you read it) here is the main points you should know.

Reserves assigned to a group, at any point in the tournament someone from that group should drop out you will replace them.
