I also just realize that Kort-Empire war is the highest valuable war ever, acording to ranking points of both clans together. 2724 in this moment.
I suppose finals of CCup2 will have more ranking points because both winners will increase their points, and all 4 clans are very close right now.

Which is as it should be
It's just a pity that the top 8 and 16 of the Cup don't adhere to that same formula

The ACC probably doesnt have much affect on the rankings, since we beat Koa yet we dropped a few spots and KOA debuted on the list higher than us.

Thats one of the other things thats worried me. How new clans do debut a lot higher than older more battle-scarred clans who do have the experience advantage which is so valuable.

Well, my point was the ACC doesn't carry much weight in the rankings, compared to a clan war.

The ACC isn't carrying as much weight, that's right. And the first round carried even less since there were a lot less games than normal wars.

Re: Algorithm of 400 Clan Ranking (Sep 30, 2011)
Not surprised to see the Pigs enter at 15. I'm not sure what your win over AoC will do for your ranking, but you are definitely worthy of being in the top 15. I bet the Dragoons will claw their way back to the top 15 in the next few months.
Experience is certainly valuable, but hard to measure exactly how valuable. I think that variable belongs in a ranking system like Chuuuuck's.
Thanks for your contributions, guys.

i dont even see any acc games loaded into the results...and supposedly they are supposed to be scored the same way as the tourney was.....

There are some ACC games that finished in September in there.

This system is not a leap ladder. This system takes all games within a 2 year window into account, with a decay factor. So just because clan A beats clan B at some given time, it is not a guarantee that clan A will be higher ranked than clan B. The only system that guarantees that is a leap ladder. I'm not doing a leap ladder because I want past results to still count for something.
That being said, even in this system, normally, if clan A beats clan B, clan A will be end up with a higher rating than clan B. So you bring up a good point.
Q) Why is KOA rated higher than DYN?
A) Looking at the ratings basis from both clans, KOA was the highest-rated clan DYN ever beat and DYN was the lowest-rated clan that KOA ever lost to. Taking that into account, I find it reasonable that KOA is rated slightly higher than DYN. The win on the part of DYN was better than their usual performance and the loss on the part of KOA was worse than their usual performance. The two clans are within about 50 points of one another, which is still pretty close.

yea, hot..if you look at the second list, the one that is split into sections...
KOA is listed in our results. But even though it is our latest results, it has such little weight it counts less than our battles with OSA, BSS, G1, L4D, and DKOC even though all of those have lost weight because of decay factor. But you will see KOA is listed between DKOC and Karma in our results.

So we're fourth now. Looks like we'll have to beat thota and win ccup to move up to first.

I have a general understanding of how it works. You are misunderstanding me if you think I am bitching. I was simply replying to someone commenting on how far the pigs might rise by beating AOC in the ACC. I was simple saying that said victory has little weight.

No, I think you have a valid concern. I was in the middle of editing my response to explain this better. I am done editing it now.

Has Memento Mori's recent victory over the Wild Geese been accounted for?

No, it wasn't completed before Sept30th. You can expect it will be in the next update though.

I'm going to compile challenge results each calender month. It's easier to keep up with that way.

Re: Algorithm of 400 Clan Ranking (Sep 30, 2011)
@FD, I can understand why you didn't want to post the less than 150 ranking, but do you know how we can still find it? (Either a link, or do we just feed your data file into the formula tab you've linked elsewhere?)
Otherwise, this new clan jumping into the top 20 thing still worries me...

Like with 1rfg, I suspect your weighting is still below 150?

Re: Algorithm of 400 Clan Ranking (Sep 30, 2011)
One thing I just noticed is that in the update Gunn sent me, Devil's Brigade is TDB. I'm assuming that is Devil's Brigade. I was calling it DB so my parser will consider TDB as a different clan. So this war was not calculated properly.
This will have had a minor effect, as any new clan is considered 1000, and DB is currently at 986.
I'll wait until any more of these coding discrepancies are caught before recomputing everything (it could potentially affect every rating, but only by a small amount).

Re: Algorithm of 400 Clan Ranking (Sep 30, 2011)
Ok I did a thorough search of all the abbreviations used, just to ensure that all wars are attributed correctly.
I fixed those wars I mentioned in the previous post.
Turns out, 1st Regiment Foot Guards: Grenadier Guards was going by two different abbreviations: 1RFG and GG. So now I've changed all entries to GG. Now they have more than 150 weight points and are listed as NEW to the ranking.
I also found that Team Ohio was also inconsistently named - OHIO and TO. Now I've changed all entries to OHIO.
Also found that MYTH was inconsistently named - in one game against KoRT, they were called Myth so it didn't get attributed correctly.
Now everything is fixed and I've updated the entire original posting - chart, ranking and rating basis sections.
Also, I extinctified TOFU. If they come back and are considered the same clan, I can simply reinstate them and all previous war results will continue to be attributed to them.
Just wanted to check, are KARMA and TIME still active clans?

Re: Algorithm of 400 Clan Ranking (Sep 30, 2011)
i have to say i am a bit concerned about the new clans entering into the ranking at such a high ranks. 4 new clans 3 of them ranked 21 or better i am certainly not saying there not that good but i was looking at some of there opponents and lets say there not all top tier clans that there beating. pig for example is 12? really? there a great clan and i do think there going to be a top clan one day but i for one cant see them at 12 at this point
they beat
AKA at 22
DB@24
TNC@26
OSA@28
lost to
GR@23
this fact tells me the hell with the top clans just play a war every month or so against average or below average clans and you will raise your rank to the top!
