Before you throw all of Team CC under the bus on this one, not everyone was in favor of this thread, and a few have stated so.
By cc management i mean andy, lack and KA...as a former moderator i realize that all big decisions come down to them and they must have approved of this or bruce would have got punished for creating it.

The thing is, a thread like this would have been great if it had been like 2-5 days max. before the actual thing... We've all heard so many promises of "great things to come" over the years, this thing is kinda just piling insult on injury.
I don't think bruces is gloating. I think he genuinely thinks we'll be surprised or whatnot. But Christ the timing is absolutely awful. And CC is putting a gun to its head with this. If this update sucks, then there is going to be a shitstorm.

They can't control who posts what, to a certain extent.
Because it is against the rules to post things meant for private forms in public forms...im sure admin knew about this before the post happened or bruce would have been risking getting in trouble and loss of mod status, something i dont think would have happened.

Me too. As far as I am aware, there was no prior knowledge of this thread. I was surprised when I saw it and I am also sure that Bruce expected the update to be announced very quickly after he created the thread.

Is there a reason why we can't just know? Is it so bad for the site to provide information beforehand about upcoming changes? Are the admins afraid we'll get way too excited and not be able to focus in real life if we know about some update to the site? Are are the admins afraid about people bitching about the change - isn't that the point of the Suggestions forum?
