Round the World Race - Triples (COMPLETE)

Post by nebsmith »

edit: mc29. This Tournament has been rescued by josko.ri

Welcome to a Race round the World to control the Final map. The first team to reach a map will have more chances to advance and the first team to the Final chooses the settings.

Each member of the winning team will receive 1 year Premium

Freemiums welcome - you will need 3 spots free for Round 1 and the Final, apart from that it is one game at a time.
ROUND
 1. California - 24 Qualifying
 2. Japan 12
 3. Hong Kong 11
 4. Oceania 10
 5. Brazil 9
 6. Africa 8
 7. Middle East 7
 8. Malta 6
 9. Balkan Peninsula 5
 10. Iberia 4
 11. USA Great Lakes 3
 12. NYC - 2 Final

Number of teams in each round in blue
Settings
Except in the final all games will be
Auto
Sequential
Escalating
Chained
Sunny
No Round Limits for any game.
To advance to the next map you must win one game on the current map.
Each round ( after the first ) one team will not win a game and be eliminated, until it comes down to a 2 team, best of 3 Final, on the last map.
Will you be the ones to get there first and control the settings to be used ?

First Round - Qualifying
The 24 teams will be randomly drawn for 12 best of 3 matches. The 12 winners enter the Race.
A team that wins 3-0 will have their 2 quickest wins as their journey time.
A team that wins 2-1 will have their 2 wins plus the 2 day penalty as their journey time.

Rounds 2-11
The 2 teams that reach the map fastest will play one game.
The winners will advance to the next map.
The losers will play the team that reached the map in the third fastest time.
This will continue until the team that reached the map last plays the losers of the previous game and one of them is eliminated.

Final
In the Final the first team to reach the map may choose the Spoils, Reinforcements and Weather
This will be the setting for all 3 games in the final.

So the faster you get to a map the more chances you have to advance. The last team to reach a map will only have one chance to win a game and reach the next round.
Travel times are counted from the first map and accumulate. So don't despair if you are behind, a quick win can move you up the order on the next map.

The order of arrival on a map will be decided by the number of days it takes to get there.
1 round = 1 day.
eg. Winning in round 7 gives you a travel time of 7 days.
Your travel time to a map will be the total number of rounds in your wins so far plus penalties for losing a game.
For each game you lose you will have 2 days added to your travel time.

In the event of tied travel time
1. The team with the fastest win on the previous map will be first
2. The team with the fastest win on any map will be first
3. If there is still a tie then the actual game time ( of the win ) on the previous map - from first move to win - will be compared. Shortest time gets it.
4. In the unlikely event that it is still tied there will be a playoff game on the previous map.
For the first round only
The length of the 2 wins counted for travel time will be compared - shortest to shortest, longest to longest.
If these are the same the actual game time of the shortest win will be compared.
[player]josko.ri[/player], [player]Moonchild[/player], third will be added soon. please count us in.

also, I think you made mistake in set up format. in my opinion, you have 1 round too much. if I counted well, it will be 2 teams left in Round 11 (Usa Great lakes map) because in 10 previous rounds it will be eliminated 10 of 12 teams. so then those 2 teams will play one game, and noone will be eliminated. so on that way in round 11 nobody will be eliminated because that would leave only 1 team for round 12. did I understand it well or where is mistake in my understanding?
