Cor 6:9-10. King James Version:

"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

Paul originally used the Greek word malakoi. The translation differs greatly depending on which version you go with. It is interpreted as effeminate in the King James, and in other version as as actual 'homosexual perversion', but elsewhere in the bible it is used constantly to mean 'soft'. Indeed, Jesus describes clothes using the same word.

The second term, arsenokoitai, is again interpreted as 'homosexual'. Again, translations differ wildly. Paul was the earliest to actually use this word, and it is used very rarely after him, so the translation is vague. It could well refer to male prostitutes, or even child sex slaves, with no relation to the act of homosexuality. He could have used the widely used Greek word 'paiderasste', which specifically and obviously refers to homosexual intercourse. Either way it certainly doesn't include females.

As I said before, it is far too vague a command to be so militantly enforced in modern Christianity.

any way this is a true story... when i was 9 years old i had a very good friend {an elderly woman who has since died from cancer} that came to our farm to stay with us to get out of the city... {she used to live in the country } any way she had two nephews that were gay. i did not find that out till some time later in life. they were both in there 20s and my brothers and sisters and i had a great time with them we took them fishing to the barns in the wood every where we would go... of course they act'd like city folk every where we took them but non the less they followed :lol:

but the whole time we did not know they had a different look on sexuality... so to make a long story short i believe it was about 3 months later my father {a pastor } told me they were gay {make no mistake myself and my family do not support gay marriage } and he knew they were when they came.... but he told me that since the two boy had come to our house one of them {the older of the two } diside to "try" to become strait ...... and now 8 years later he is married to a woman and has 3 kids... see he made a choice just one visit to our farm and hanging out with myself and my sibs change his whole out look on sexuality...... wich makes me think you are not born with it.... its how you are brought up in your family what you beliveve who you hang out with and so on and so fourth.... oh i forgot the other brother yes is still gay BUT he also tried going "straight" after he saw his older brother go "straight" well with all that said i hope that made sence... sorry about the spelling and puncuation :oops:

The woman was always gay and most likely in denial. She didn't "Turn Gay" anymore than you "turned" heterosexual. I guess you have never heard the phrase "coming out of the closet" before. :roll:

Unless you have actually spoken to these men and heard their stories, your fathers opinions have no weight. Also gay men raised to believe homosexuality is bad or a sin marry women in order to try to be "good" all the time and most suffer throughout their entire lives.

<sigh> One doesn't change sexual preference any more than you can change your mind and become a redhead.

BTW there are just as many gay "country folk" as "city folk" in case you were wondering.

lol i know and theses men come to our house every summer and the one now brings his kids.... and what i ment by city folk is that they are defly afarid of our chickens that all lol

i would hardly compare gay marriage to smoking in a public place. seriously how are they even comparable one is related to ones private life (just cause they arent married it doesnt mean they wont show public affection so yes it is just private life) and they other can give people life threating diseases such as cancer
