Re: Conquer Rome (The Fall of the Roman Empire) [BETA]
no idea if i'm right and not sure if it's been said before, but I think there is a misspelling. The box on the right I think says Empeor bonus, which I assume should be Emperor bonus. Just making sure that it ends up perfect. Looks like an awesome map.

Sirmium to Sirmium Vicarioous attack was not working for me. I had a 14 stack on Sirmium and it would not let me attack.

Re: Conquer Rome (The Fall of the Roman Empire) [BETA]
I have found that it is hard to select a few territories especially the vicarious seats with clickable maps. On a similar note to that of Viper, it looks like you can attack from the Ostrogothi outpost right into ILIII but you can't. You attack Sirium. But when you put your cursor over all the territories in Sirium using BOB you get different labels. For the territory Sirium on the map it shows ILII for the territory labeled ILII (with the legion) you get ILIII and for the territory labeled ILIII you get Sirium.
On a much better note, love the map, and expect to be playing this one quite a bit here on out. Great job, just a few very fixable bugs.

Thanks guys!
There's a problem with the small map in the Sirmium area - already corrected but waiting for the upload. Use the large one for now please.

Re: Conquer Rome (The Fall of the Roman Empire) [BETA]
Thanks Joriki
Actually, I can't think of nothing that I'd like to see changed here... so far.
I'd just change the starting neutrals on all legions from 3 to 2, except on:
AFIII Legion (on Africa)
AEIII Legion (on Aegyptus)
and maybe on
BII Legion (on Britanniae)
..and also, probably Rome should start with 1 neutral (because of some lucky drops on the Imperial Capitals bonus - Rome/Constantinople)

Just as a quick question, did you mean to be able to fort to barbarians because you can from the out post?

yes, the Barbarian tribe can be taken back from the outpost. That's the way to prevent easy eliminations or a too much easy access to the barbarians from the Emperor

Re: Conquer Rome (The Fall of the Roman Empire) [BETA]
OK, have not read previous comments, so if this is a repeat.. I apologize.
I truly LOVE this map. Great 1 vs 1 play!
However, this is one of those times when I think an expanded version of the instructions is absolutely warranted... maybe in a drop-down box or maybe a link to a thread created JUST by you and then LOCKED, to only explain the bonuses in more detail. (the strategy forum is best for anything else).
Now, understand, I LIKE that the bonuses are the way they are (at least as much as I understand.. lol). However, its just too much to put on the legend in a really understandable form. I have played this a few times and still don't really and truly understand the negative bonuses, for example. I keep reading the map and I just don't "get" it. Note.. if you look at my record, you will see that I am someone who plays ALL the maps (still making up for a break I took, but anyway...) I genuinely LIKE the "different" and difficult maps, both. BUT... these bonuses are hard to figure out.
Right now, when a lot of us are just figuring this out, its not so bad. In fact, I think its kind of fun. However, I think hard to understand maps (not just difficult maps.. that is something else again!) are an "issue".
Again, I do NOT want to see the map simplified. I just would like to see better explanations.
Other than that.. definitely keep up the good work! This one must have taken a lot of time to complete!

Thanks
Well, you can really believe me when I say that this legend was simplified to the last bit, as much as yo can do on such a small space. I honestly think that the diagram ended up working pretty well.

Re: Conquer Rome (The Fall of the Roman Empire) [BETA]
Just want preface this by saying this is one of the best new maps to come out since I've joined the site.
I have one question though regarding the -3 armies for holding the Imperial Seats and Barbarian Tribes.
From what I've been told, holding the East Imperial Seat while also holding Western Barbarian Tribes means a deploy of -3 is coming, correct? The legend does not really indicate that holding a Barbarian Tribe from the other Empire will mean a negative drop, it just indicates holding one at all means a negative fort. Now, am I being dense in this? Is my assumption incorrect? I wish I could be clearer in this but it's confusing the hell out of me lol. Maybe shading the Barbarian bubbles different colors for each side would clear it up a bit?
**EDIT** Actually, just did a bit of reading in the thread (probably should have done that before posting anyway) but holding a barbarian tribe on the SAME side of the dividing line as the Imperial Seat you hold causes the negative fort. But I think the the fact I was told something different might lend credence to the confusion issues. A simple shading might go a long way in better explaining it.

Thanks Nolafan!
In the Emperor bonus legend board you can see that holding one emperor and a tribe from the same side will cause you to lose 3 troops from your deployment. I wouldn't want to add confusion on introducing different colors to the tribes. The division line is quite distinguishable I think

Re: Conquer Rome (The Fall of the Roman Empire) [BETA]
Genius! I'm a freemium so it's slow going getting into the map, but I know already it's going to be one of my favorites. Along with, may I add, Kings Court and Napoleonic Europe (stick in Third Crusade here too, but I'm still poor at it).
Your maps are historically and aesthetically brilliant while being, most importantly, the best to play, playability- to keep up the ...ly trend of this post.
Two questions;
1. The territory adjacent to the barbarian outpost can't attack it, right? Only bombard from a legion?
2. and, only a capital can attack the vicarious seat? Vicarious seats in the same praefectura can't attack one another and there is no backwards attacking from the vicarious seat or from the praetor?
Anyway, a great job, much kodus to you.

thanks a lot!!!
yes, Barbarian Outposts can only be reached by legions (through bombardment) and from Barbarian Tribes.
....and yes to all in the last question

This is the last update to the XML including those changes I've mentioned earlier:
-The starting neutrals on all legions from were changed from 3 to 2, except on:
AFIII Legion (on Africa)
AEIII Legion (on Aegyptus)
-Rome now starts with 1 neutral

Re: Conquer Rome (The Fall of the Roman Empire) [BETA]
I'm curious, Illyrici Praetori starts as a 3 neutral, but the rest of the Praetori start as 4. May I ask why? I'd read through the thread, but I have next to no time.

Re: Conquer Rome (The Fall of the Roman Empire) [BETA]
That happens because that praetor is somewhat less powerful than the others. His Praefectura is smaller - so less bonus capability, and he also bombards less capitals and legions than the others.
