Stevie Ray Vaughan held me as a baby at Adelaide Airport in late 1984 - Apparently the story was that he came up to my mum and dad and proclaimed - 'That there is a mighty fine looking baby' and decided to hold me for a bit.

That's a good story, RJ.
Still, it's a little disconcerting. I often do the same thing at airports and it invariably leads to police involvement.I say the exact same phrase and then grab the child, but it always provokes a negative reaction. It could be my accent, I guess.

But, anyway - funny story but Vaughan actually held me at Adelaide airport in 84 as well, so I imagine we must have been there the same day? Of course I was in my late 40s at the time, but it was still a fun experience. It was before I learned English so I was a bit perplexed by what was happening at the time, IIRC.

Unfortunately there are no photos of this event, even though my grandma was right there with a camera around her neck (but she had no fucking clue who this weird american that was holding her grandson! - Needless to say, both my parents were stoked to have had such a legend ask to hold their child!)
Either way - I've always loved the shredding at the end of this Propagandhi song - Purina Hall of Fame
