well i get on to read it, but i was late a day or so (dont really know) so by the time i replaced someone it was to page 30, so i read it all but i have to keep going back in order to actually remember all the facts. im mainly just reading what other people write today so that i can make a general thesis.
Re: Memebase Mafia [32/32] DAY 1 START! (Seeking subs)
Well, there is one circumstance in which I could see it being used. A mod could make s scum member voteless in a game that a large scum group. They could try to use it to compensate for the mafia extra numbers by making sure that they would still have to get the townies down low in order to win. This doesn't seem that likely, but I supposed it could in theory happen.strike wolf wrote:There was an influential voter and a double voter. So to organize again what has already been said, wouldn't adding a voteless scum make the game much harder to balance favorably for scum? It's much more detrimental to scum than it could ever be to town.
Because sometimes you are suspicious of a person but don't have a case to get them lynched? I mean, what else are you gonna do, kick them into a bottomless pit?DoomYoshi wrote:Perhaps you can explain why dazza is a good target for silencing but not for voting?
This raises some bizarre quandaries. Can Pedobear target a non-child meme without falling into some sort of paradox? Although, I suppose that there aren't really any memes in this game that are over 18 or so years old anyway...Rodion wrote:I don't always have sex, but when I do I make sure they're underage.

I find the case on strike wolf silly, tbh. And the idea that we should drop the 'dead weight' is also ridiculous. By dropping even a voteless townie, you are making the scum faction more influential in the politics of the town.
As far as rodion goes, I say we keep him alive for now. I agree that making pedobear a scummy would be a pretty terrible choice on the mods' part, but then that is also a pseudo-WIFOM argument. I would agree to an investigation being used on him, but definitely not a lynch.
How is he being lazy? Its true that killing off a townie is essentially killing off one more scum hunter. Why is it "lazy" that he says this? He is not saying that he will not also be looking for scum, only that the town should not kill off a townie just because his role isn't very good. In a C9 game, do you lynch off VTs just because they have no powers? Of course not. VTs and other terrible roles can aid town just as much as a cop can.

The strike case is dumb. Dumb enough that I am a bit embarrassed to see it. Voteless Townie is the role. Who here has played with a Voteless Scumie? Way more important things to go on here.
Pedobear for instance. He cannot be town. I cannot recall what he claimed orientation wise. I haven't got my excel charts out yet and never do till a few days in. I get killed too often early on to care to do it every time.
Anyhow, I think Pedobear is a form of cult recruiter. Flavor mostly fits, and it is often very easy to hide in plain sight. I really hope someone had the good sense to track him last night so we can establish the validity of his claim.

Alright, I feel somewhat comfortable with a claim right now given the apparent impasse we have.
First of all, icedagger's case is kind of ridiculous on strike. Saying that the role is bollocks is complete wifom, and given the dead voting roles and the general size of the game, not completely out of the ordinary.
So I am Success Kid, Town JOAT. The regular JOAT skills obviously, protect, kill and investigate, but I can also choose to roleblock instead.
So last night I investigated Rodion and came up with guilty. And before you go around saying I'm paranoid, might I add that I am flavor confirmed in the Day 1 scene as the discoverer of the conspiracy. So yes, I'm confident Rodion is anti town of some sort.
The reasoning for why I would investigate Rodion is partly because he admitted being pedobear, and partly because I know how much he loves to argue innocence when he's mafia. In fact, right now, he's WIFOMing his PR into a shield against him being mafia because it's "too obvious". That's basically his defense and I guarantee he'll stick to it come hell or high water.

A guilty cop claim, I'm going to unvote vote Rodion because if he flips town then we can pressure saf tomorrow, if he flips scum - well we can return to the case on icedagger. Now I'm just throwing out an idea here and I have no idea on what meme would be typical for this role but could Pedobear be a cult recruiter. i.e he molests you and you are now his forever? Can some people who have played a pcm game before with a cult tell us if he clearly mentions a cult actions in scenes i.e. like TSL and saf.

If you did actually feel that way it's interesting you chose now to mention it... In addition to bringing up the miller possibility, perhaps worthy of a fos should rodion turn up mafia.sheepofdumb wrote:I was thinking pedobear would be scum. this seems like convenient timing to post this. The miller part I could see you holding back on saying because you don't want to get the cop all crazed and paranoid about it but not mentioning suspicions about the scum part yeah the timing seems awfully convenient.
As far as the investigation, I've never heard of a paranoid JOAT it's vaguely possible I suppose but the chances seem slim to none so I feel Safari's investigation is legitimate. What I do not agree with is the cult recruiter thing. That sounds too far fetched especially when you consider that Dazza seems to have been unaware that he was recruited by Rodion.

Re: Memebase Mafia [29/32] Day 2 - I Own A Horse
well it's obvious that dazza was targeted by rod because she said so.
If rod flips town, the mod would tell us if he's miller. If he's town miller as well as roleblocker, then I say that clears saf (or makes saf less suspicious). If rod is town but isn't miller, saf is probably mafia or something (assuming paranoid JOAT is out of the question).
So, Vote Rodion bye bye pedobear.
Icedagger, I can see why you would want everyone to know you're a PGO so no one targets you. But understand that such a claim is suspicious because it makes for a good cover for mafia. That's why we're suspicious of you right now because of that. Sometimes things like that are handy to know for town though. Once in an RT I claimed doc so the mafia would target me. That night, they targeted me and in reality I was a town bulletproof. My plan to become a lightning rod worked. But the next day saf counterclaimed doc and I got lynched. And then saf was exposed, and killed the next night (or so I assume). So yeah be careful what info you expose, it might end up helping mafia more than town. It's hard to tell.
And strike wolf is a well-known mafia scum hunter in CC mafia.

If there is a guilty result we have to lynch. Even if he is town, if he is alive in a close endgame he could easily cost the town their victory. Wifom does dictate that he would be the most likely to be framed during the night, or other little things to cause him to be lynched today, but I do not think we can have any other course of action.

At the same time, why point out that your recruiter has an iffy role?
@chap: that seems a bit simplex reasoning considering other options on the table.

I believe icedagger's claim, bro. Is it a mafia-ish claim? Yea. But I rarely see mafia with balls enough to claim like that. It makes them suspicious early on and doesn't really help them any. His claim seems to be more out of concern for the town. We don't want to accidentally be killed by him, and his claim prevents that.

Re: Memebase Mafia [29/32] Day 2 - I Own A Horse
Why do those BWs only happen when I'm asleep lol? Crafty, Safari, crafty...
I do not have the energy/patience/will to fight a guilty report like I did back in Terminator Mafia, so I'll only say it once: it's wrong. I'm not sure what is the cause of the false positive, but waiting for other players to post is always a sound idea as a town busdriver could appear telling who the real guilty person is. If I had to guess which of the various "crazy roles" are responsible for my fake positive, I'd guess Safari to be a lyncher.
Anyway, I'll have to make a fullclaim now. I like to think of roleblocker/voteblocker as side effects of my real skill, which is identity cop. I targeted Dazza because she said she didn't have a post restriction, so we would not get her identity "for free", as we have with / being Me Gusta, for instance. I intended to use my powers every night so I could stockpile those hidden identities and possibly see through a mafia fakeclaim. I can reveal Dazza's meme if you need the proof.
