That would be fun, but many of the countries in the map are countries in their own right, so there would be far too many bonuses.

On a more pressing matter...

I've been playing around witht the shrinking of my image. It seriously isn't going good. I shrink it down to 350 pixels in heighth, but then the names are completely illegible. I don't have the room to make them bigger, especially in the small version.

Is there any huge need for a small version? I don't know if it's really possible with a map that is square like this one is.

For my square maps, I fudged on the 350px guideline: 500x500 for the small ones and 700x700 for the large ones.

That would be workable then, as of now I believe the large is about 600 tall, so taking it down to 500 or 400 should be easier.

I would like to suggest changing the region of Manning to Athabasca, a more proper name for the region.

North America, French Canada

I think the map looks very cool and fun! Except people might feel offended about french Canada being its own part it goes back to the whole speratist politician thing.

But other wise very good job just try and find another name for french canada.

Yeah, i lost motivation and basically quit trying to get the small to work, someone offered me some tips, but i couldn't get them to work. there's also the fact that there is so much to do in the summer that it's hard to sit at the computer for hours to do something like that...

anyway, if someone wants to do the small picture, cool, i'll do the xml, otherwise it'll be finished eventually :)

Maybe you should then put links for the images without numbers. Maybe an image without names and circles, too.

I don't know if this is too late to suggest, but seince the small map is still being worked on I assume that one small change can be made. I think Belize should be renamed Guatemala. Guatemala is a larger and more populated, and more important country than Belize.

A good suggestion, but I'm not going to change it because I'm done changing that kinda stuff and because I've always wanted to go to Belize, arbitrary, I know, but that's how it goes.

Thanks though,

I dunno if it's been mentioned yet or not (I don't exactly want to go through 13 pages of posts to find out) but Newfoundland and Labrador are mixed up. Newfoundland is the island and Labrador is the mainland (bordering Quebec to the north).

Nunuvut is actuallly Nunavut, that's the spellcheck error. And what about replacing Ottawa with Toronto, Horseshoe, G. Horseshoe, or S. Ontario; and Missouri with Illinois. Otherwise, I love it.

missouri =5,595,211 population

notice missouri has 6,824,082 less people than illinois ( as of 2000)

i support this suggestion and here's why:

Code: Select all

                   :  GUATEMALA :  BELIZE
      AREA (sq km) :    108,890 :  22,966
        POPULATION : 12,974,361 : 256,062
 GDP (million US$) :     46,200 :     790

Guatemala is a larger (4.74 times), more populated (50.67 times), and economically stronger (58.48 times)country than Belize!!! in addition to that, Belize was a part of Guatemala... naming the territory Belize would be like, in some map, naming the whole ex-sovietic territory Ukraine or Belarus instead of Russia or USSR, just nonsense... so, i still don't see why this territory should be named Belize instead of Guatemala!!! anyone with me??

bottom line: name the territory Guatemala, numbers strongly support that (and numbers don't lie  )

It all rests on Dublin's shoulders, we are still awaiting his finished small map. And just to avoid confusion, I should've probably done this a while ago... I'm taking it out of Quenched, and putting it back in Final Forge, while we await the small map.
