Re: BOB 5.1.5

Post by Demonic »

Hi, i tried to install BOB. after downloading greasemonkey I then attempted to download the script. The install buton counted down from 3 to 1 but when I click the install button it does nothing. I tried closing firefox and starting over, no help. I tried removing all my antivirus software, no chelp.

Is there something I am missing.

You must be running Firefox 3.6 Greasemonkey does not like 3.6 anymore. I had that same problem. I moved to Firefox 6.0

I just got a new computer, I had BOB on my old computer. I'm running firefox 3.6.15 on my new computer. I installed greasemonkey without any problems. But when i went to install BOB it didn't work, i'd click the install button and nothing happens. Any idea why this is happening?

https://addons.mozilla.org/nl/firefox/a ... /versions/ lets you install older (and sometimes newer) versions of greasemonkey, you could try that if you want to hold on to firefox 3.6.

I've just updated to FF 6.0 and find that the 'Hide Menu; game' isn't bringing the menu back when hovering @ the left of the screen.

OS = Vista with the latest BOB and GM

Yep, I have the same problem after upgrading to FF 6. I'm running Win7 with BOB 5.1.5. GM/BOB is not disabled in add-ons.

Oddly enough, the snapshots still works on my work computer, also running Win7/FF6. Only difference is that my home computer is running the 32-bit version of Windows.

Actually, it is the Map Rank GL script that does this, and there are checkboxes under its Options menu to control this: Display Icons (indicating where you have won) and Display Dark Icons (indicating where your opponent has won). I don't recall turning these off, but I just turned them on, and the icons are back. Maybe they got cleared by an update of the script.

so it is.

i checked the box & they are back now.

what it might have been is i had to reinstall the scripts a few weeks ago after trying a newer version of Firefox and then returning to my older version.

Alright, BOB doesn't show up anywhere. I have it enabled, I've uninstalled and reinstalled it twice now, and it's not working at all. I originally tried fixing it, because of the Auto hide problem it had. Any ideas?

What OS and browser are you using? If Greasemonkey is involved, what version is it?

So the left menu is not hidden, and BOB does not appear in it? Do any of the BOB features seem active (buttons for chat snapshots, enhanced statistics, ...)?

Some recent reports seem to show a problem with BOB under FF6. (Scroll back to see posts by AyeTrain and Namor.) Does your situation resemble theirs? Can you revert to FF5?

My original problem was exactly what they were describing. I figured I just needed to re-install BOB to fix the bug.

But now, BOB does not show up anywhere on Conquerclub, at all. Not on the left menu panel or in my games.

Snapshots show up as "[team]: snap :: 3~?????Pc??????????BfBdBfBd?Bf???CgBcCeBeBcBdBcBcBdBcCeEhBiCeDh??????BiBiHd???BiBeDhBg
??????????Ba???????Ba?????????????????????????????????????????BaBaBaCa?????????BaBaCa?????BcBaBaBaBa?????"

I'll try going back to an older version of FF tomorrow, but most people I'm assuming upgraded to 6.0 with no problems. Why do some have problems, and not others?

I guess BOB is generating a javascript-error for some reason. I haven't heard of any errors specific to firefox 6 at least.

Maybe you could check and send me the error? (retrieving: ctrl-shift-j , it's a bit annoying that it shows all errors/warnings from all pages, so set it to errors only and clear it first, and then refresh a CC page. Then I guess it shows an error.

The menu is set to hide. If it doesn't appear if you
1. move the cursor to the left and deactivate this setting in the menu than you could try
2. opening a game to see if this setting is not in effect during games or
3. solve it by reinstalling BOB.

From the screen shot I can see you have loaded a very old BOB, 4.7.3. You should be running 5.1.5. Go to the first post of this topic and look for the GET BOB link.

i upgraded firefox to 3.6.22 from 3.6.21 and now BOB is gone. does it work on that version?

i upgraded to V4 or 5 a few weeks ago but revert to 3.6 because i want the shadow boxes around the last item i clicked on and that version did not seem to have it. does 6 have that feature?
