So many different pretty screensavers our mapmakers have generated.
Gotta say I'm liking the look of First Nations Americas right now.

I don't know if my new map is pretty, but it lets you conquer Kamchatka.

it is, but to be honest with you, colors are too close to each others... you feel it like an old piece of paper exposed to sunlight for long time.... apart from colors, it is very nice =D>

But it is supposed to look old... I mean, 1914 was a loooong time ago.

And besides, you don't mess with Kamchatka.

Amen, brother! Some notable pretty maps, I think: Balkan Peninsula (it just has a nice "crispness" about it that not many other maps have), First Nations Americas (duh), Classic (very well done, and very suiting graphics), Monsters (it's cartoony, but done really well), Thyseneal (the watercolor works really well with the theme, I think), Woodboro (like Monsters - cartoony done really well), and all the beta maps. And then there's Africa, which I both love and hate simultaneously.

Of maps made in 2007, which is the prettiest in your eyes? The year is still pretty early in regards to the website standards, but things improved quite a bit from 2006.

I think my honorable mention list for 2007 would include Scotland, Duck & Cover, D-Day, Great Lakes.

None of the neutral heavy maps qualify I think, as white troops are hideous. The prettiest is either crossword or Doodle. The ugliest are Montreal andthe various space maps

A new entry into 'Pretty Maps':
Image
It is pretty simple and clean, but I like at least the look of it. When I get some games going on it, I'll know if I like the gameplay enough to add it to my usual rotation...

So while browsing maps earlier, I think a map has grown on me some since I last looked at it and played on it: Gilgamesh

I like the style and aesthetics it has going.

nice joke. i think you got the wrong thread. you're looking for the ugliest crappiest blandest looking map thread. i can't even imagine how oaktown managed to get from High Seas or Duck&Cover which are great looking maps to that atrocious, horribly drawn, texture intensive, washed out, monstrosity.
