Greetings my friends and thank you very much for joining! I hope you've all now shaken off your hangovers from the weekend and are ready to compete!

A lot of you are familiar faces who have been in several of my tournaments -- I'm glad to have your vote of confidence! A few of you are new -- it's good to see you and I hope you have fun!

Tourney privileges were received quickly and we are now under way. The first round of games have been created and all invitations sent out. This round is one game only; you must win this game to carry on. Good luck!

[spoiler=details of preliminary round]Preliminary round:
All games CC default (Seq. Aut. Esc. Chain. No Fog)
Canadian side: 1 game each on the Canada map, winner advances
U.S.A. side: 1 game each on the U.S.A. map, winner advances[/spoiler]

Since this is a fairly simple tournament, I'm going to keep the player list and all scoreboards together in a single post, which you can find here: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=148354#p3240845

I've put you on the list of reserves, Matti, but with the number of people we have now it's unlikely that you will get a chance to play...

I've already got five names on the reserve list. I appreciate you offering, but at this point there's really very little chance of needing anyone else.

Dibbler and azak848 are going at it hammer and tongs... they were so enthusiastic they almost had their first game finished before I had all the invites out... :-)

Good to see a couple of my favourite interview subjects getting into my tourney! =D>

I only regret that one of you will be gone after this round...

Unfortunately for Azak the luck meter has been squarely on my side so far in all the games. :shock:

Much to my disappointment, no Canadians have survived this round. An American and a Brit will fight it out for the right to represent Canada in the final. Almost like real-life history.... :-)

Meanwhile, two Americans will battle it out on the American side.

[player]aalii[/player] and [player]metsfanmax[/player] advance to the Master Round on the American side. GreenBaize and wrexham will contest the Master Round on the Canadian side.

Condolences to all my fellow Canucks... we tried, but you can't win 'em all... :-)

Yeah, aalii is a top-notch player.

Anyway, while it did look for a while as if Canada might be represented by an American, it will be a Brit. [player]GreenBaize[/player] has won 3 of the 5 games in his series against [player]wrexham[/player], and although there is still one active game in that series, we can already declare GreenBaize the winner.

The final will be Metsfanmax vs. GreenBaize! Congratulations both!

I forfeit the final match, regardless of the outcome of the games. I do not want my first tournament win to be from a tournament where I do not meet the standards of conduct as determined by the Tournament Organizer.

What does this mean

It refers to private communication between myself and Dukasaur. It is not important what was said, I just do not want to take part in his tournaments any longer, nor do I want to receive a medal for winning one.
