Champion of WWII Poland Champion Series #9 ('Forced Sequential' Rules - see below) Congratulations to the winner - [player]HighlanderAttack[/player] A best-of-3, 16-player bracket-style knockout tournament.
'Forced Sequential' Rules: show
Each match-up will be best-of-3. One game will be sequential, the others freestyle where each player goes first (as green) once. This ensures no player starts all 3 games and thereby gains a massive advantage. Although freestyle settings are used, players should play sequentially. In simple terms, the difference with a normal freestyle game is that, during the first 12 hours of a turn , the player going second must wait until the player going first ends his turn . This applies to the first turn where the TO will arrange staggerred invites to determine which player goes first. If the player designated to go second (red) takes his turn within the first 12 hrs of the round (if green hasn't completed his turn), it will result in losing the game. Missing a turn or messing about with accepting an invite then dropping, or inviting someone (this is the TO's job) will be treated similarly. If green doesn't take his turn within 12 hours then it is a legitimate for red to take his go. If red then finishes his turn before green then he is set to go first in the the next round. Green must then wait 12 hours or until red has finished his turn (green would lose the game if he fails to do so). Missing a turn also results in losing the game in question. To stay within the rules: (1) Accept invites. (2) Dont drop a game after accepting the invite. (2.5) Don't invite someone to join you in a game (!). (3) Remember, in the first round, green should go first , so, if you are green then play whenever you are ready. (4) Be careful about going first, usually green should go first . So, if you are red do not play until either: green has finished his turn, or, 12 hours of the turn have elapsed. The only exception is when green has taken more than 12 hours to take his turn and has gained going first advantage (see above). (5) Don't miss a turn. (6) Report any rule violations by your opponent to the TO.Question: If green misses a turn, or as he takes more than 12 hours, would red end up going first?Answer: Red would end up going first in the round in question (and green lose the game if he misses entirely). In the following round, red would be set to go first and green must wait for 12 hours (or for red to finish his turn) before taking his turn (failure to do so, would result in green losing the game).
Details: show
A 16-player, best-of-3, 1 v 1, knockout 'bracket'-style tournament.
Match Options show
Matches will take place on the WWII Poland map. Each match will be Automatic with No Spoils, Adjacent Reinforcements and Fog of War. 2 games in each match will be freestyle (with 'forced sequential' rules - see above) and 1 game will be Sequential.
First Turn Fog of War Courtesy Rule show
Does not apply in this tournament due to the starting-position style of the map used.
Players show
There will be 16 players. Players must have a 97% attendance record, have played a minimum 25 matches, and not have dropped out from one of my tournaments previously! Premium required. Players will have 24 hours to join their matches from when the joining PM is sent. Failure to do so will result in a reserve being sought (harsh, I know). Winners of each match should PM the Tournament Organiser.
Reserves show
After the First Round, reserve PMs will initially be sent to the player(s) eliminated in the previous round. If none of these players respond within 24 hours, then all players eliminated will be sent a PM. When a PM is sent, the first reserve to respond will gain a place. For the first round, reserves will be drawn from the reserve list.
Joining Matches show
Players will be informed when they have a match and will have 24 hours to join. If they fail to do so then they will be ejected from the tournament and a reserve will replace them.
Winning Matches show
Winners of each best-of-3 match are expected to PM the Tournament Organiser.
Seedings / The Draw show
Players will be drawn at random by random.org.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.

DJ, I just messed it up. started a turn because i pressed goto next game, pressed B, and ended my turn within the time it needed the other guy to make 2 attackes. I though he had finished, but i did not watch too closely for the ended turn remark. I offered he could start after 12 hours (since he was last) and that i would wait. Would the be okay? its not like i intended to start first, nor did he have a disadvantage, in fact he profits from it. just fyi.

I dont know, you arcade-gamers! If your opponent regains going first and it was early -game build where no advantage was gained, and your opponent is happy, then its all good.

its still got 8 more hours on the clock, 16 hours went past already. it is 1/1 in score since with a 4 drop on a 3 stack he managed to take a 2,1,1,1,1,1.. ouch... I am going to wait till the last hour, but i think he should be able to be going first.
