Be able to convert ongoing speed games into a casual game, with consent of all participating players
Specifics/Details:
If you are in a speed game and either cannot finish the game for whatever reason, or even if you just don't want to, you can click a button saying you want to convert it ti a casual game. You click it on your turn, and on the next players turn, they will be asked if they want the game to become casual, etc. If ALL players click accept, the game converts to casual
How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
Sometimes people start a speed game and need to leave, if the opponents understand this, they can click convert to casual to help out the player that needs to leave. Also games become stale sometimes, and that sucks. So if all players agree, it is better then having people deadbeat
Idk how possible this suggestion is, I am just throwing it out there
Medals would be the same, except for speed medal.. You wouldn't get a kill for the speed medal if the game was casual at its end. I think that is the only other medal it would effect
+1 I've joined one thinking it'd be reasonably short, and ends out getting drawn for 3-4 hours by evenly matched player. At that point someone either makes a move to suicide or gives up bcuz RL gets in the way.

Cool Idea but good luck getting everyone to agree to it in a game . If someone says "I can't finish" a lot of people would be like "muahahahha if I stay on I could get an advantage". I guess for games where everyone knew each other would be pretty valuable.
Most people would bring it to a casual game IMO, a lot of people are nice here on CC. But also it could be used for those games where you know the players, like you said, or for stalemate games where all parties involved just don't wanna play anymore. For instance I have played a speed game for almost 7 hours straight or something ridiculous like that
my favorite game type is 1v1 speed random............. and when the system gave me hive once, i had to spend hours until i had to give up.. it could have gone for like 5 or 6 hours at least.. i'd like to convert it into casual when i get such a bitch map.
I think this is a cool idea. I once had to deadbeat in a speed game because of classes, and this would have allowed me to stay in the game. (Luckily someone eliminated me so i didn't deadbeat).

speed is speed, make a pick before you start. Looking to how this site "responds" to "problems" like things I think I can be pretty sure saying: not gonna happen...
This would certainly solve the problems associated with those late-night games. Although, your opponent might just want to wait it out and get the points from you deadbeating ;P

This would be acceptable. I like the idea, but i dont think i will see it implemented. If you start speedgames, you should finish them..

That's why this option is a great idea -- while in theory you should only start a speed game if you have the time to finish it, real life factors always come into play; and besides, some speed games take hours longer than you expect. This allows you to finish a speed game that you started instead of deadbeating out of it.
This would only be a good idea if each player can only propose Casual once per game. I do not play casual... ever. I would be seriously annoyed if I had to click decline every turn to continue the game. On second thought make it unlimited but ignorable and off to the side. If the vote is something you have to respond to it can be abused as a delay tactic in a freestyle. Popup a vote and attack while your opponent is stumbling over the unexpected choice.
As an addition, to help avoid freestyle delay tactics, maybe make it so you can only propose it before you click begin turn, and the vote is off to the side so it wont interfere with the map

Or maybe have you vote, it shows up next to your name saying "Wants to go to Casual", then everyone can see that. No annoying pop ups or anything like that.
taking a break from cc, will be back sometime in the future.

My concern wasn't popups, rather a voting mechanism that works like cards, where you have to respond before you can do anything else. Voting at all needs to be optional and should default to no. If voting is forced at any point it could be used to stall an opponent at a crucial moment.
