Stickse is 12-0.
Von Kaiser is 11-0 with 1 active game. A loss gives Stickse the medal.

“First player to lead the field in wins”—after every round I will check to see who is the first player to lead all other players with wins. This means after the round is complete if someone has more wins than everyone else they have lead the pack and will win the GA Medal.

That one, yes.

“Longest winning streak in the tourney”—for this one, players that think they have the longest winning streak must report it to HighlanderAttack—I will keep track based on game numbers for the players that report their winning streak to me. This is wins in a row without losing.

“Player with most perfect 3 win rounds”—this one must be reported to HighlanderAttack when the player completes the tourney—report how many times they went 3-0 in a round.

Those two will have to wait, they could be surpassed.

Congrats stickse. First medal of the tourney, I believe.

Escalating, next cash = 15, Von Kaiser has 4 cards and his opponent has 1. Still too early to call it.

Well, this is a week old, but probably wont be too far off:

quoted from page 1....

Round 5 will start approximately April 22nd. That is my best guess at this time. (dated on the 11th of april).

Well that makes my post 0 for 2. Thank you drunkmonkey and Rodion for setting me straight.

Aside: I was hoping to be wrong on the result of the game, since that keeps me in the running for that medal :D

4/19-This week has been the week from hell in real life--they just seem to get busier and busier. I will get caught up when I finish work and go to my kid's soccer game sometime later tonight. If you have questions I will answer them in the thread and pm you if needed. Round 5 will start around May 1st unless I find some extra time. I need to make sure this tourney is 100% up to date before starting round 5.

No worries mate, you take all the time you need. RL comes first and besides, the extra time may help a few freemies clear their gameload.

An extra week or two won't make much difference to a tourney that could run til Armageddon.

What needs to happen when someone deliberately throws gives up in a game? It looks like one of my opponents did that, trying to be altruistic. They played to win at first, then I figured they could be stockpiling and/or saving a set for the escalating bonus. The change came at a point when I had lost my other 2 games for the round and they had already qualified to advance. We never communicated, but it became increasingly clear that they took it upon themselves to give me an advantage up.
This has been edited to remove ambiguous wording & remove conclusions that now have alternative explanations.

Yeah that's really weird. Game 8818667 is the game in question vs [player]Krissan[/player]. Looks like he just gave up trying and threw the game.

It's not against tournament rules, but it is against CC rules:

Obviously any gross abuse of the game is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to: throwing games or deliberately benefiting from thrown games, intentional deadbeating, holding players hostage, serial teammate killing, hijacking accounts, systematically "farming" new recruits.

There is no way Krissan would throw a game. He has 120+ active games, most likely what happened was he felt like it was a lost cause because the opponent was so far ahead and did not want to waste his time dragging the game out forever.

It looked pretty even at the point he gave up, plus of course it's escalating cards so one can never count out the possibility of coming from behind when trades start to reach 30-35 (which they would have done if he'd kept himself in the game and bothered to win a card).

Sorry Cof, I should have worded my post a little better.

To me in CC terms, "throwing a game" means losing a game with malicious intent. Such as killing the wrong target in an assassin game or losing to a friend in a round robin tournament so they can win the tournament

Krissan certainly quit playing, but I would not call that throwing a game because he did not have malicious intent. He had a slim chance to win (you always have a chance).

At the turn when he did not take a terry, the terry count was 40-25 and the other player had 2 bonuses. He deployed 8 and did not card, maybe attacked and had bad dice?

If that's what happened I wouldn't label it throwing a game.

Just my 2 cents

Yeah I can see that too mate. And with that many active games (nutter) he's not going to want to hang around on a time-consuming map when the cause looks lost. There was an air of resignation to it, but by no means is he 'throwing' a game.

Anyway, it was pretty decent of DKohler to mention it considering he was the beneficiary.

Looks like Krissan, having qualified couldn't be bothered to try anymore - being 40-25 down in regions. I wouldn't call it a gross abuse in throwing a game - I've seen low ranks suicide against neutral and give up on smaller maps with much thinner advantages many times.
