I know nothing about eye. Sure it's very likely his connection with THOTA had nothing to do with the lock. But that doesn't change the core principle that perception matters to the public. That's the entire reason this case was reopened, and having a THOTA member lock a thread that was reopened by an Admin does not look good.

Good point Hotfire, but all you need to do is go a bit further down to see:

Anyway, Looks like Andy says he'll reopen the thread within a day, which is good news, and he made a valid point himself about how a lot of discussion started going on in that thread. (which was evidenced by how life in this one tapered off).
Pertinent Evidence -> C&A; Hypothesizing/Discussion (even about the evidence?) -> GD

lets try and take it easy on the incriminations everybody. Already 2 players appologized because they accused mods of doing well abuse of power where this was not the case. But it will get picked up by others that it might be that such a thing is going concern, and that is simply not true. Every single mod is dedicating his/her free time to this game to make it enjoyable for everybody. Lets at least give them the benefit of the doubt and if you have a question, ask... most things will just be made clear that way and evil intentions, conspiricy's or the illuminati are really not a moving motive here...

thats all folks, i am waiting for news as much as the next guy.

Just an observation, but locking the thread to "have people cool down" appeared to have exactly the opposite effect.

Worth noting in future. Deny people the opportunity to speak and it just rouses anger and suspicion.

rofl also causes a lot of people being pm spammed lol i got 22 pms within 15 mins of the thread being locked. so went off my nut in here.but you are correct cof. was this not the problem with the original c and a report they locked it and kept it locked. not letting people put the info they had forward. now it has happened again.

This may be true, but it also fair both ways. Blitz is not defending himself anymore either.

You guys keep nit-picking what he says and it riles everyone up all together. How can he really offer any defense if you're gonna continue to do that too. I think locking it does have some "fairness", and how much more can one contribute? I wish Andy would give an update of progress. This should be able to calm the community too.

You are assuming the 'community' want to be calmed. The only way they will be calmed is if they get want they want. If they dont they'll just have louder tantrums.

and yes, I know this is a generalisation.

I want to clarify that I didn't have a problem with the thread being temporarily locked, I just think that given the nature of the situation that the only person who should be locking or unlocking that C&A thread is AndyDufresne.

Yeah, no matter what eye's intentions were (and it sounds like they were good), the appearance of the mods not being impartial can be just as damaging even if they were trying to be.

As I predicted, the lock lasted less than 24 hours, and came with explicit rules. Hopefully everyone plays by them, and civil discussion can continue.

We are re-checking the case and re-evaluating what facts we have.

Just to clarify, for those of you who just want to complain or post that you agree with what your friends say or how awful the C&A mods are, keep it in this GD thread. If you have further evidence to show for the case, then you can post it in the C&A thread. Your feelings for the case is not evidence. There is just too much public trial in this case that everyone just want to post away anything they have in mind and it only adds more posts to read and more for us to distinguish the facts from people just posting how they are disappointed, mad or in agreement/disagreement with.

Thank you.

what sort of timeframe are you expecting a decision to be made within, hours/days from now or would weeks be more like it ?

for the record,

i don't "hate" blitzaholic. i don't even dislike him. For all i know we'd get along if we meant in person.
the persona he portrays while typing posts really irks me. i dislike it when people put themselves above everyone else.

again if he is guilty of the worst scenario then id personally rather see a point reset and a couple month ban and then a refrain from promoting himself and his circle of friends as the greatest players and downplaying anyone else.

im not the kind of person who wants to see people permanently banned, especially if they really enjoy this website

After reading that C & A thread, I now realize why almost every competent defense attorney in the United States will never put their clients on the stand....that last post by blitz is an absolute train wreck.

where is the "like" button? i keep getting this confused with facebook... and many feel that was the reason for the mysterious lock... if you look at the thread, there isn't any flaming or any getting out of hand... it is all just so questionable... however, the mods/admins are working away, and the fact that they are looking into it again after so many valid complaints and more evidence surfacing, is valiant... i just want to be able to walk away from this thing feeling sound in the final judgement...-the black mojo

I say they will reach a decision within a week's time from now. Just my guess though.
