Me too :D

...but the first turn is easily nullified if the opponent has dropped closer to a bonus or has good turn advantage on a quick elimination.
And a great round of dice trumps them all. Just ask KORT about our city mogul game, where they had the first turn and the drop.

If you want to throw skill/experience into the mix. A great team might be able to overcome all three against a bunch of scrubs.
But in a pretty even match, I pray for the dice above all.

Looking at the starts i would say we need it bad... some quick stats...

Tsm starts in 14 of 16 games
IA starts in 2 of 16 games
and 3 games havent started...

a small bonus was dropped in one quad game for the starting guy on TSM
and in two of the starts tsm took 2 and 3 regions dropping 3 to start...

all signs point to a long set for IA

have another look mate. we are getting murdered by dice right now. at least in 5-6 games that i checked, or have been hearing about in our forum.

And we're up to 2-0 in finished games: Game 8767839 and Game 8768890. It won't last long though...

congrats to AoC for taking early lead =D>

I counted 4-2 for KORT in decided games. madness, gilgamesh, hive, conquerman, for kort (assuming "gg" in madn, gilg are reliable)

in other games I counted more advantages for AoC than for KORT, so it should be very interesting in next days ;)

hive and conquerman seem to have been decided quickly tho? They're usually the more longer games aren't they?

Not sure what happened there, but yes, both are looking pretty good for KoRT.

The bad thing (for us) is AoC has a firm grip on Stalingrad, Battle for Iraq!, Siege! and the sunny Triple Alliance.

IA leads us 1-0 so far. According to my count, there are about 8 other games in which one team has a significant lead, those are split evenly. So likely score will be 5-4 with IA still being up a game on us.

How to things look for you guys, aoc, kort?

When I saw games yesterday, it was 3-2 AoC with 4 good AoC leads and 2 good KoRT leads, so 7-4 AoC with 8 games to go.

I'll check it again tonight!

If you count Siege as an advantage to us, I think you must count the random trips game at Great Lakes as an advantage to you (both with escalating spoils to possibly turn things around). So maybe 7-5? And a lot of games up in the air still.

Can't speak for the Hive game, but CM never got going for us. The big maps often last a long time, but if you have a poor first round, then you're forever chasing uphill. The big stacks we built in the first round, never gained enough ground.

Pssh. I think this is a very close challenge. I think it will come down to a 10-9 challenge. The winner is undecided.

I agree. I tried to predict (bigger or smaller) advantages on this moment and it comes 10-9 for KORT, but really hard to be objective due to lot of fog, so probably someone may predict 10-9 for AOC or even 11-8 for AOC. it will be very interesting to see how it will end. also other semis are very hot.

it is really ton of fun being a part of semis, especially vs so classy opponents like AOC ;)

It will undoubtedly be a really close finish. With so many escalating games left it's really hard to call it at the moment. In a couple more days the picture should be a lot clearer.

Whilst we went into this league feeling very positive about our chance of progressing, I don't think many of us would have expected to find ourselves in this situation. It's a testament to the hard work of the entire group that we have the privilege of enjoying a semi final with KORT.

Win or Lose, we've had a great time playing some top quality opposition.

With the turnover in USA Great Lakes: Game 8769393 AOC is now up to 6-2 in finished games! :D

The real result is much closer than this, but we're enjoying the score for now at least.
