Game ratings
Ok well i know it isnt that important, but a while ago, i beat a guy in a match, fair and square, it was when i was still learning the game...Anyway, he gave me a rating of 2/5 stars for fair play, now i know the ratings do matter somewhat because if you have bad ratings, nobody will want to have a match with you, what i want to know is, are players aloud to do that? He's basically being a sore looser, his excuse for me beating him was that the dice always went in my favour.....So like...yeah
Re: Game ratings
They are not allowed to abuse the ratings system. What is considered abuse, though, is a tough question.
I don't think you deserved to get such poor ratings, but unfortunately I also think there is nothing you can do about it.

If the person is conducting rating's abuse (requires 5 cases or more), then they can be reported in the Cheating & Abuse forum. From there, we have a team of people equipped and ready to help you.

I checked the log for that game - #8754464 - and that guy was butthurt due to "luck." To be honest, I would have made fun of him far more than you did, but regardless, your responses are what got you that rating.
No, ratings don't matter. Maybe to the "social" people on the site, but if I like the map and rules (no freestyle) I'll play against you no matter what your rating is.

What responses? I barely said any words to him....

This is false for the most part. Nobody really cares. The only time it really applies is for some tournaments and entrance into clans, but as far as public games go, they don't matter. You'll always find somebody to fill your games.

Re: Game ratings
I have some general concerns about ratings, to the point I do not provide any. It seems to be a matter of common practice or common courtesy for many to give a five in every category, unless the player is really a jerk or really bad. That renders it meaningless, how do you recognize a player who is really good or really friendly, other than by giving a comment tag or two, when you give fives to those whose play was basically OK, nothing really stupid, nothing really brilliant, which, not to lower my ratings, is objectively, how I would rate my play most games G:>.
For the sake of discussion it might be better if there was a limit, voluntary or mandatory, on the number of ratings you can issue, say 1 rating for every game. that way players would be very selective about rating someone, in most cases giving say a 4 or 5 to the one player in the game who really impressed them and infrequently, giving a 1 or 2 to someone who needs to be recognized as a bad actor. That way a players ratings would really tell you something, if a player had 100 out of 150 games rated at 5 for friendly or good player, he or she must be good.
