NOTE: Each Discipline winner will get a "General Achievement Medal." The Overall Champion will receive the "Tournament Winner Medal."
The Silver Edition of the Initech Series needs to be something special, so I'm going to pull out all the stops for my 25th tournament. I'm happy to unveil the celebratory extravaganza, which will be a multi-discipline event that will award a series of medals and an overall award for the tournament champion. I am pleased to present... Initech XXV: Olympic Games!
OVERVIEW
64-player event that will involve Quads, Doubles, Standard, Assassin and Terminator games. Each player will play a minimum of 26 games across those five disciplines. There will be a total of between 484 and 495 games in the tournament. The single-player games will vary among 8-player, 6-player, 5-player, 4-player, 3-player and possibly 1 v 1 matches.
ELIGIBLE PLAYERS
Only premium players accepted. You must register as a Quads team. Your Quads team will be split into two Doubles teams for the Doubles portion of the tournament. The first two players listed will be a Doubles teams, the last two players listed will be the other team for the Doubles portion of the tournament.
RULES
As always, all games will be sequential, standard, chained, flat rate, foggy.
MAPS
Each discipline will represent a continental area and Olympic ring.
Quads will be in Africa: Africa, Rail Africa and South Africa 1885 will be used.
Doubles will be in Oceania: Australia, Oceania and Cairns Coastal will be used.
Standard will be in Asia: Greater China, Japan, Middle East, Soviet Union and Indochina will be used.
Assassin will be in the Americas: Greenland, Haiti, Canada and Central America will be used.
Terminator will be in Europe: Luxembourg, Ireland, Cyprus, Macedonia and Iceland will be used.
QUADS - AFRICA - BLUE RING
DOUBLES - OCEANIA - YELLOW RING
STANDARD - ASIA - BLACK RING
ASSASSIN - AMERICAS - GREEN RING
TERMINATOR - EUROPE - RED RING
SEEDING
The Quads event will not be seeded. The Doubles event will ensure that Quads teammates do not face each other in the first two rounds. There will be no other seeding of that event. The Standard event will ensure that Quads teammates do not face each other in the first round. An attempt will also be made to seed the top 16 players in separate matches for the first round. The Assassin event will ensure that Quads teammates do not face each other in the first round. An attempt will also be made to seed the top 16 players in separate matches for the first round. The Terminator event will ensure that Quads teammates do not face each other in the first round. There will be no other seeding of that event.
OVERALL TOURNAMENT CHAMPION
Since there is an irregular nature to each component of the tournament (different number of rounds, different number of players, different number of matches, etc.), finding a standard way to determine the overall champion is difficult. I've settled on a mathematical formula with a couple tweaks. This is how an overall tournament champion will be determined:
1. Each player will have a winning % for each Quads match that they participated in. That number will be multiplied by 0.40 to get a Quads Coefficient.
2. Each player will have a winning % for each Doubles match that they participated in. That number will be multiplied by 0.60 to get a Doubles Coefficient.
3. Each player will have a winning % for each Standard match they participated in. This winning % will be the Standard Coefficient.
4. Each player will have a winning % for each Assassin match that they participated in. That number will be multiplied by 0.80 to get a Assassin Coefficient.
5. Each player will have a winning % for each Terminator match that they participated in. In addition, a bonus of 0.02 will be given for each elimination made on a map where the player did not win. The adjusted number will be the Terminator Coefficient.
The 5 Coefficients will be added up to get a Preliminary Tournament Coefficient. That Preliminary Coefficient will be adjusted as follows:
A. For every medal won, a 0.50 bonus will be added to the Preliminary Coefficient.
B. For every discipline where the player failed to advance to the winners' bracket or failed to advance past the initial matches in the losers' bracket, a 0.20 deduction will be taken from the Preliminary Coefficient.
After the above two adjustments, each player will have a Final Tournament Coefficient. The player with the highest Final Coefficient will be declared Tournament Champion.

Re: Initech XXV: Olympic Games [7/16 Quads+]
Little confused here. Is the Justice League the name of your one-man team? If I get 4 singles, I'll throw them together IF they agree to it. But the rules are pretty clear... you sign up as a Quads team.Linnick wrote:I would like to be in with a new quad whoever want to join up on the Justice League in please

Ugh. Good catch. I saw a new post and thought I had a new team. This might be tough, but I really want this to go off (and it needs 16 teams to work).danryan wrote:You actually have 10 teams. #4 and #11 are the same.
