I think what he has works just fine...

I can see maps...

Helix, the doubled bonus works peculiar for me. I mean when I hold one bonus and one ship/fort only this bonus should be doubled. no all my bonuses. when I can have doubled the next bonus I must conquer the next ship/fort.

What about "Holding any fort or ship will double any regional bonus?

This could still be construed as increasing exponentially?

Well, I ended up not going with what I suggested and tried something different, check the latest images.

Yep - those images (ie the legend) reads much better now.

I read something about Gilligan trying to update some XML? Or did I imagine that?

Here's the updated XML from the first post, but that's not an XML file as we know it: http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/11/14/2187148//SouthAfrica.xml

Nice work and interesting map for few players. I didn't play it with more than 4 players and I'd like to see what could happen.
GOod idea about stars doubleing the bonuses.

Something is f'd up with the xml positioning. Everything is over about two number spaces to the right.

EDIT: Apparently its only on the large version of the map.

Did you use jota's map assistant? I once had a strange coordinate shift from using that (although it was with the initial coordinate plotting and not a subsequent change).

Yeah I did, but how does that explain how it was changed? I didn't open the Map Assistant after the map went live because there was no need to.

It happened at the same time as they introduced clickable maps. There was nothing wrong with it before that. I can say that with almost 99% certainty, because I played a South Africa turn about half an hour before the clikable update, and another one about 10 minutes after that.

It has nothing to do with clickies. The error is in the XML.
