I must say that problem with map making its these that every map authors first start to create large image. I every time start from small image and then go too work in large image, becouse you can see what can stand in map and what will be bad to see in small map.

I don't see any problems in the small version...

FireWorks
Brush -> blue
Colorfill with wave pattern and swish texture.
Inner bevel -> sloped, inset.
Inner glow -> dark blue color.

Any more feedback?

Especially the mountains - Is any one of them cool, or none? Going in the right direction?
I tried to recreate the mountains from the new middle east map (I think KEYOGI's map), but to do that I will need to spend more than the odd hour on them...

I redid the bridges. I hope these new ones will be better eceived...

What direction do I have to look next?

Thanks.
I love my little bridges ;) but I think they may have to be shrunk...
Also, the mountains aren't finshed yet.

Sorry Crowly don't know if I can give feedback any longer.

I think that you read my post about my cheating (multiple accounts) and I don't know if I have an account the next week.

sorry

Looks good I think, the rivers are much better then on the last map.

Have you worked on the XML file ?

I finished and checked it a while back on an older map - was working fine...

I just have to check if I changed any borders since then.
Some bonuses have definately changed and army circles have also changed position, but I could finish the XML in a day or 2, no problem.

What is the way forward?
How much feedback do I need to get the map to the next stage of development?
I'm new, but I always see 'Final Forge' and 'Quenched' flying around the place.

I like it. Not much to fault.

It would be nice if there was one continent that offered a bigger bonus, but I don't think it's neccessary. I think the gameplay on this one should be nice.

Onto visuals. The only things that I think could use improving here are the continent borders and perhaps the text. I'm not a fan of the grey continent borders. I'm sure you could make them white like the rest of the borders. The font is very boring and does weird things to my eyes in some places. Maybe go for a sans serif font, they tend to be easier to read.

One last thing. In your dead territory, next to the river up near the legends there is a weird line coming off your river. :wink:

Thanks.

I had the Eastern Cape as a 6 bonus (5 borders, 7 territories), but there was unhappiness about it. I still think it should be 6. It's nice if there's always a big bonus continent enticing people to make a play for it.

I had the borders better defined in an earlier update, but later I thought, "Is it really necessary when the country colors don't clash?". I will make another update with better defined borders, then maybe we can vote on it.
The text has been a nightmare for me. I thought that would be the easy part, but many fonts don't scale down nicely. Again, I'll play around with it...

That line is actually a quick patch I put in when some of my layers got a little funky :oops: - I've already fixed the coloration in the last update and I'll do a permanent fix later...

Is it possible to have just 1 coloured font? Instead of both black and white?

I doesn't look cool to me when I only use one font.
The background is just too light or dark for one font, in my opinion...

Maybe this way it could work - Black text with white shadow...
